A detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Analyst with Payroll Experience. Responsible for managing day-to-day general ledger accounting functions while overseeing the payroll system and how it integrates to the general ledger. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in financial accounting principles alongside technical expertise in payroll administration, payroll tax compliance including withholding taxes, and benefit reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Analysis

Prepare, analyse, review, journal entries for month-end and year-end closings.
Reconcile and analyse complex balance sheet accounts, including payroll deductions, payroll clearings and accrued liabilities.
Analyze financial statements to identify variations, trends, and discrepancies against previous actuals.
Act as a liaison between payroll and accounting department to understand the payroll process and benefits to ensure financial data accuracy recorded in the general leger.
Responsible for preparing and maintaining training documentation and flowcharts related to payroll processes vis a vis the flow of financial data within GL related to payroll activities.
Act as a liaison between corporate finance team and accounting team to understand and maintain general ledger for Defined Pension Plan benefits, RRSP Pensions and ESPP.
Assist in special projects with comprehension of the flow of information from sub-ledgers to general ledger
Assist external and internal auditors by providing necessary documentation, schedules, and explanations

Payroll Administration & Compliance

Have a good knowledge of Payroll with good understanding of statutory deductions and other benefits
Manage withholding taxes
Generate standard and ad-hoc payroll reports for finance, and management teams.

Technical Skills & Education Requirements

Proficiency with major ERP systems (e.g. Infor LN, SAP, Oracle)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with or working towards an accounting CPA designation
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years of payroll related activities exposure and analysis
A good understanding of payroll systems (e.g., UKG, ADP, Workday, Ceridian). Knowledge of UKG is an asset.
Fast learner, multitasker, strong analysis in project & manufacturing environment
Fluent in English and French

Analyste de la comptabilité/paie

Un analyste de la comptabilité ayant une expérience en paie, rigoureux et doté d’un esprit analytique. Chargé de gérer les opérations quotidiennes de comptabilité générale tout en supervisant le système de paie et son intégration au grand livre. Le candidat idéal possède une excellente connaissance des principes de comptabilité financière ainsi qu’une expertise technique en matière d’administration de la paie, d’observation fiscale (y compris les retenues à la source) et de rapprochement des avantages sociaux.

Responsabilités principales

Analyse comptable et financière

Préparer, analyser et vérifier les écritures comptables pour les clôtures de fin de mois et de fin d’exercice.
Rapprocher et analyser les comptes complexes du bilan, notamment les retenues sur salaire, les régularisations salariales et les charges à payer.
Analyser les états financiers afin d’identifier les variations, les tendances et les écarts par rapport aux chiffres réels antérieurs.
Assurer la liaison entre le service de la paie et le service de la comptabilité afin de comprendre le processus de paie et les avantages sociaux, et de garantir l’exactitude des données financières enregistrées dans le grand livre.
Être chargé(e) de la préparation et de la mise à jour de la documentation de formation et des organigrammes relatifs aux processus de paie, en lien avec le flux des données financières au sein du grand livre concernant les activités de paie.
Assurer la liaison entre l’équipe des finances d’entreprise et l’équipe de comptabilité afin de comprendre et de tenir à jour le grand livre général pour les prestations du régime de retraite à prestations déterminées, les pensions REER et le régime d’achat d’actions des employés.
Participer à des projets spéciaux en maîtrisant le flux d’informations des livres auxiliaires vers le grand livre général.
Assister les auditeurs externes et internes en leur fournissant la documentation, les tableaux et les explications nécessaires.

Gestion de la paie et conformité

Posséder une bonne connaissance de la paie et une bonne compréhension des retenues légales et des autres avantages sociaux
Gérer les retenues à la source
Générer des rapports de paie standard et ponctuels à l’intention des équipes financières et de direction.

Compétences techniques et formation requise

Maîtrise des principaux systèmes ERP (par exemple : Infor LN, SAP, Oracle)
Baccalauréat en comptabilité, avec le titre de CPA (comptable professionnel agréé) ou en cours d’obtention
Au moins 3 à 5 ans d’expérience en comptabilité, dont au moins 3 ans dans des activités liées à la gestion de la paie et à l’analyse
Bonne compréhension des systèmes de gestion de la paie (par exemple : UKG, ADP, Workday, Ceridian). La connaissance d’UKG est un atout.
