The Position
We’re on the hunt for a Staff Structural Engineer to join our Robotics and Space Operation team at our Brampton, ON office. This key individual brings proven space flight expertise coupled with product design experience in volume manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop state-of-the-art robotics for LEO and Lunar environments.
- Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains including Mechanical, Electrical and Control Systems.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and BD proposal costing and writing.
- Define technical work packages and provide technical direction to cross-functional teams and structural specialists supporting complex development programs.
- Review and interpret customer specifications and act as primary customer contact. Understand and anticipate customer spoken and unspoken requirements.
- Mentor and develop engineers across the Mechanical Engineering department through coaching, training, technical reviews, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Champion the deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
- Serve as the recognized technical authority for structural engineering across programs, providing expert consultation, technical direction, and independent review of critical engineering decisions.
- Develop innovative structural analysis approaches and technical solutions to complex challenges where established company processes, standards, or precedents do not exist.
- Work with the Mechanical Engineering Managers to drive structural engineering process improvements, standards development, and best-practice implementation across programs and products.
- Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
- Lead structural risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and resolution activities throughout the program lifecycle
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 20+ years direct experience on structural dynamics (modal analysis, SINE, Random vibration, Shock and Acoustic excitation), preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Experience in impact of different mechanical loading conditions (QS, Dynamic and thermal stress) on mechanical design.
- Fluent in the use of NASTRAN, ANSYS, MATLAB and other analysis software.
- Proven experience in leading a team of structural engineers by providing decision making, task prioritization, risk assessment, and mentorship responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience working in a product development environment, one focused on volume manufacturing and design for cost.
- Composite structural analysis expertise is an asset.
- Ability of working under tight schedule and pressure.
- Experience in a major CAD tool (such as NX, Pro-E, Catia or Solidworks).
Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

The compensation range for this position is $140,000-170,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
