ENGLISH ---------------------------------------------

At Mechasys, we believe the construction industry deserves tools as precise and innovative as the finished article it creates. That’s why we’ve developed the XR Projector, a state-of-the-art 3D positioning tool that brings blueprints to life, directly on the job site. Using BIM/CAD models, our XR Projector projects blueprints at a 1:1 scale with millimetre accuracy, eliminating guesswork, cutting rework by up to 50%, and helping teams complete projects faster and smarter.

Proudly based in Montreal, we’re driven by a passion for precision, quality, and transforming how the world builds. As we scale, we’re looking for talented individuals to join our mission and help shape the future of construction technology.

Mechatronics Engineer

We’re looking for a Mechatronics Engineer – Robotic System Calibration to take the accuracy of our technology to the next level. You’ll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge calibration processes for our precision laser projection system, working to ensure that every measurement is flawless.

What You’ll Be Doing

Calibration: Design and implement advanced calibration methodologies to enhance system accuracy and reliability. Test, refine, and validate through hands-on experimentation. Integrate improved techniques in Production.
Modelling: Identify and model system behaviours and inaccuracies from the component level all the way to the fully integrated device. Design and implement compensation techniques to improve performance.
Development: Implement internal tools and customer-facing features through firmware and embedded development, mainly in C++ and Python on Linux.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with hardware, software, and product teams to embed calibration solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
Troubleshoot: Closely support the Calibration team to identify and resolve calibration issues in Production, ensuring that customers always receive the highest quality product.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

Experience: 3+ years in robotics, calibration, precision engineering, or similar fields. We will also consider less experienced candidates with particularly relevant experience.

Core Skills:

Strong grasp of robotics calibration processes and the ability to translate them into practical solutions.
Proficiency in C++ and Python
Expertise in embedding algorithms into firmware and integrating them with hardware.
Solid understanding of robotics, kinematics, metrology, and calibration techniques.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a focus on developing and applying mathematical models to enhance system accuracy.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience working with high-precision laser systems or optical calibration.
- Familiarity with laser trackers and software like Polyworks.
- Experience with designing hardware and electronics

Why You’ll Love It Here

At Mechasys, we’re not just building tools, we’re building a movement. Here’s what you can expect when you join us:
