As a key member of the Guest Experience team, you’ll play a pivotal role in welcoming and checking in students, ensuring they feel supported from the moment they arrive. Your enthusiasm for fitness and wellness will help create an uplifting and positive atmosphere.
You’ll work closely with instructors, fellow team members, and new guests, building connections and fostering a sense of community. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring the studio is immaculate by collaborating with our cleaning support team (when available). In a fast-paced environment, staying calm, organized, and approachable is essential to creating the best experience for our guests.
Key Details:
- Position: Part-time
- Hours: Early morning, evening and weekend availability required. 12+ hours per week.
- Priority needs currently being early morning weekday shifts, and weekends
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wage dependent on experience and qualifications
- Being a team member means you can practice at the studio, with an unlimited membership which includes 2 guest passes/month. Mat and towel rentals are complimentary. *Please note late cancel and no show fees apply to you and your guests.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Warmly welcome every guest with a friendly smile, greet them by name, and make them feel at home.
- Develop a full understanding of Melt's policies, procedures, products, memberships, and classes in order to best assist guests with their needs and inquiries. Seek assistance from senior staff when needed.
- Provide personalized 1-on-1 studio tours for first-time guests to help them feel comfortable and familiarize themselves with the space.
- Collaborate with instructors to ensure the studio is properly prepared for class, props are placed on mats, and the check-in process runs smoothly.
- Maintain cleanliness by clearing, cleaning, and resetting the studio space and props after each class.
- Ensure that classes start on time and that all preparations are in place for a smooth experience.
- Master the MarianaTek software to accurately complete customer transactions, update customer profiles, and manage billing information.
- Be proactive and take initiative, completing tasks without supervision when needed.
- Quickly resolve guest inquiries by researching answers or reaching out to MarianaTek directly, aiming to address issues on the first contact.
- Assist management with the day-to-day operations of the studio, including handling emails and escalating issues when necessary.
- Support studio cleanliness and upkeep, ensuring the front desk area, change rooms, waiting room, hot studio, showers, bathrooms, and locker areas are maintained.
- Oversee laundry operations, including managing laundry bins, running towels through wash and dry cycles, and folding towels for guests.
- Perform regular bathroom checks (e.g., cleaning floors, checking stock, and maintaining cleanliness).
- Regularly sweep and vacuum common areas, empty garbage, and maintain a general clean environment.
- Complete opening and/or closing checklists according to your shift schedule.
- Be adaptable and willing to perform other duties as needed to support studio operations.
- Collaborate with the team to create a welcoming and positive environment for both guests and staff. Communicate with teammates and offer support where necessary.
Qualifications:
- A strong passion for hospitality and a customer-focused mindset, consistently offering service with empathy, kindness, and patience.
- Excellent work ethic, including punctuality, reliability, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while communicating clearly and being a self-starter and team player.
- Outgoing, friendly, and empathetic personality with the ability to build strong connections with others.
- Proven ability to drive revenue, with excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills.
- Experience with MarianaTek software is preferred.
- Previous hospitality experience is preferred.
Work Requirements:
- Flexibility with work hours, including potential early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
- Availability to work on some holidays (the studio operates year-round).
- 12-30 hours per week, with 2-5 shifts, depending on your availability and the studio’s needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain on your feet for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, move, and handle up to 30 pounds.
- Capable of kneeling, bending, reaching, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in environments with significant temperature fluctuations.
