WEB MANAGER (BAND LEVEL 9)

Division of Marketing and Communications

(Permanent Position)

DUTIES

Role

Reporting to the Associate Director (Marketing), the Web Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for Memorial's web presence, including www.mun.ca and its subsites. The Web Content Manager leads a team of web professionals and works in close collaboration with Marketing and Communications, Information Technology Services (ITS), and academic and administrative units to ensure a high-quality, accessible, and effective digital experience. A key focus of the role is the ongoing enhancement and optimization of the university's TerminalFour web content management system (CMS). The Web Content Manager will:

Lead, supervise, and support a team responsible for web content and platform management
Direct the development, governance, and continuous improvement of the TerminalFour CMS in partnership with ITS
Establish and maintain institutional web standards, policies, templates, and governance practices
Provide subject-matter expertise and leadership in web strategy, content management, and user experience
Champion web accessibility and help ensure compliance with recognized standards (e.g., WCAG)
Use analytics and data-driven insights to inform decisions, improve performance, and enhance user experience
Plan and manage institutional web projects, including stakeholder engagement and delivery
Manage development and delivery of training and support programs for CMS users across the university
Collaborate with stakeholders to anticipate needs, identify opportunities, and advance continuous improvement
Ensure consistency, quality, usability, and effective stewardship of the university's web presence
Perform related duties as required

Qualifications

Experience (5-8 years) in marketing, web, and/or communications management, including considerable experience in managing web teams and web tools as well as program and project management; graduation with an undergraduate degree from an approved college or university is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The incumbent must have up-to-date knowledge of web standards and best practices; the ability to develop creative and effective web-based solutions to marketing and communications challenges; demonstrated ability to manage projects and meet deadlines; good knowledge of online marketing and communications design or development techniques and trends; and experience developing and managing a complex, institutional website are essential. Experience working in a similar capacity at a university or at a digital marketing agency, and familiarity with post-secondary education issues and trends, would be assets.

SALARY $67,414 - $91,929 per annum (Management and Professional)
