Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with High-Crest Enterprises, a provincially licensed and nationally accredited provider of long-term care services, to recruit a Project Manager to join their growing construction and development team in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

High-Crest Enterprises Ltd. is a Nova Scotia-based organization dedicated to the development, ownership, and operation of long-term care communities that provide high-quality, resident-centered care to seniors across the province. Through its network of facilities, High-Crest supports hundreds of residents and families while employing multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals, support staff, and leaders committed to delivering excellence in seniors' care.

High-Crest owns and operates several long-term care homes and continues to make significant investments in the modernization, expansion, and redevelopment of seniors' living infrastructure. The organization works closely with provincial health authorities, government partners, healthcare providers, consultants, and construction teams to develop environments that enhance resident well-being, promote staff effectiveness, and support evolving healthcare standards.

Role Description

The Project Manager will play a critical leadership role in project initiatives, acting as High-Crest's advocate and trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle. From the earliest planning stages through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and occupancy, this individual will ensure projects align with organizational objectives while protecting schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder interests.

By joining High-Crest, you’ll have an opportunity to work on projects that have lasting impact. Every successful project directly contributes to creating better living environments for seniors, supporting frontline healthcare teams, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure in communities across Nova Scotia. In addition to the opportunity to lead transformative healthcare infrastructure projects, they offer a competitive total rewards package that recognizes the expertise required to deliver complex capital projects successfully.

Your responsibilities will include:

•Lead major long-term care and healthcare capital development projects from initiation through occupancy;

•Monitor construction progress, schedule performance, quality assurance, commissioning, occupancy readiness, closeout, and warranty activities;

•Develop and maintain project charters, execution plans, schedules, budgets, governance structures, and reporting frameworks;

•Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, quantity surveyors, healthcare planners, and regulatory stakeholders;

•Ensure all project deliverables align with organizational priorities and provincial requirements;

•Develop and manage total project budgets, provide forecasting, cost control, cash flow management, and financial reporting;

•Support value engineering and procurement strategies that maximize long-term value;

•Ensure compliance with healthcare facility requirements, quality standards, health and safety practices, and infection prevention protocols.

Your Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced and technically strong project management professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. You bring a structured yet practical approach to managing complex projects, particularly within multi-unit residential and urban settings. With strong leadership capabilities, you are comfortable taking ownership of outcomes, leading site teams, and collaborating across departments to deliver projects that enhance long-term asset value.

Your qualifications will include:

•Minimum 6+ years of experience leading capital projects valued at $15 million or greater from planning through occupancy;

•Experience with long-term care, healthcare, seniors' housing, or public-sector infrastructure projects preferred;

•Demonstrated success managing multiple stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies;

•Strong knowledge of budgeting, procurement, risk management, and construction administration;

•Certification in Infection Control During Construction, Renovation and Maintenance of Health Care Facilities considered an asset;

•Professional designation such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, PQS, Architect, or related credential considered an asset;

•Knowledge of Nova Scotia healthcare infrastructure and regulatory environments;

•Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
