About Meridian OneCap

The role:

The National Program Development Manager is responsible for sourcing, structuring, launching, and growing national finance programs with equipment manufacturers, distributors, and dealer networks across Canada. The role owns the full program lifecycle - from initial partner identification through negotiation, documentation, launch, and ongoing performance management - with a mandate to deliver profitable, sustainable volume across three funding pillars: commercial and consumer lease and loan, and inventory finance.

Key Responsibilities

Program Origination & Development

Identify and pursue national OEM, distributor, resellers, and dealer group opportunities that align with the company's target markets and risk appetite.
Negotiate program agreements including pricing, subvention and rate buy-down structures, recourse and loss-sharing terms, volume commitments, and fee arrangements.
Build the full program infrastructure required for launch: program guidelines, credit parameters, documentation packages, co-branded marketing collateral, FAQ and rep-facing training materials, and internal onboarding instructions.

Inventory / Floorplan Finance

Structure wholesale floorplan lines for dealer networks, including line limits, curtailment schedules, free-flooring and interest-free periods, audit and inspection requirements, and manufacturer repurchase or buy-back agreements.
Work with credit and operations to establish dealer financial reporting standards, monitor inventory aging and turns, unit audits, sold-out-of-trust exposure, and overall line utilization.
Manage the transition of flooring relationships into retail and lease take-out volume, ensuring the floorplan line functions as a front end to the broader program rather than a standalone exposure.

Consumer & Retail Finance

Develop point-of-sale retail finance programs that allow dealers to offer end-customer financing at the counter, including promotional rate offerings, deferred payment and low-rate campaigns funded through manufacturer subvention.
Ensure consumer-facing programs meet applicable Canadian consumer protection, disclosure, cost-of-borrowing, and privacy requirements, coordinating with legal and compliance on documentation and advertising review.
Support dealer adoption through training on credit application submission, approval turnaround expectations, documentation standards, and funding requirements - with a focus on approval rates, look-to-book, and speed of decision.

Program Management & Performance

Own ongoing performance reporting by program: origination volume, mix across floorplan, commercial, and retail, yield, delinquency and loss rates, dealer penetration, and program profitability.
Conduct regular business reviews with manufacturer partners and key dealers; recommend pricing, structure, or credit parameter adjustments based on portfolio performance and market conditions.
Partner with credit and risk on dealer reviews, line increases, and remediation of underperforming accounts.

Internal & Market Leadership

Act as the internal subject matter expert on assigned programs, supporting the national sales team with structuring guidance, deal escalation, and competitive positioning.
Represent the company at national and regional trade shows, dealer meetings, and industry association events.
Provide market intelligence on competitor programs, pricing trends, and emerging equipment segments to inform strategy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

5+ years in equipment finance, asset-based lending, or captive/vendor finance, with direct exposure to inventory financing and retail/consumer lending programs.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close multi-year national program agreements with manufacturers or large dealer groups.
Strong credit acumen - able to read dealer financial statements, assess working capital and inventory positions, and speak credibly with underwriters.
Debt stream, residual value, buy and sell desk experience would be valuable
Excellent relationship management, presentation, and commercial negotiation skills.
Willingness to travel nationally; bilingual (English/French) an asset

This role represents an existing vacancy. Internal candidates are being considered as part of our standard process.

Salary Range: CAD $79,100 to $90,000 annually.

Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Office Location: Toronto Corporate Office. This is a hybrid opportunity.
