Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing accurate, timely, and effective month‑end financial reporting and supporting day‑to‑day financial operations. As a key business partner, the Intermediate Accountant contributes to continuous process improvements, system enhancements, and alignment of financial goals across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Complete month‑end close activities, including journal entries, invoice postings, cost allocations, accruals, intercompany transactions, and related reporting tasks. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather required information and ensure updates are incorporated into month‑end reporting processes.
- Prepare timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations; investigate discrepancies, resolve issues, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Perform reconciliations between various billing systems, TMS interfaces, and the ERP to ensure data integrity. Act as a finance representative for Transportation Management System (TMS) migration and other system implementation or process‑improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain documentation for procedures, policies, and internal controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Conduct financial and variance analysis to support operational decision‑making; lead month‑end results review meetings with Operations Management. Participate in ad‑hoc financial analysis, reporting, and operational support as required.
- Assist with external customer reporting, internal reporting packages, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Support interim and year‑end audit preparation by providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CPA designation in progress preferred.
