We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. At Metrolinx, equity, diversity and inclusion are essential to living our values of serving with passion, thinking forward and playing as a team.

Our Capital Projects Group (CPG) workforce is made up of driven and dedicated professionals who care deeply about working together to deliver infrastructure and make a positive impact in our communities. Manage and contribute to the development of proposal estimates related to the scope of the project by reviewing and approving all plans, schedules, and tendering documents to ensure optimal coordination of projects within the program.
Review consultant proposals and contractor submittals and develop recommendations for proposed project solutions consistent with strategic plan and business objectives.
Provide collaborative leadership oversight to the team, and ensuring that critical project milestones, issues, risks, are identified early and contribute to the strategic mitigation plans
Oversee project activities to identify areas of potential exposure or non-compliance; takes appropriate actions to mitigate risk.

Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g., Metrolinx Act, Places to Grow Act, Planning Act, Revised Statutes of Ontario (RSO), Municipal Act) is an asset.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset.
Principles and practices of architecture, urban planning, engineering design and their application to the construction of infrastructure, facilities, and related works
Analytical and negotiation skills and experience with vendor management to manage development and delivery of externally provided products and services (e.g., negotiate contracts, interpret, compile, and administer contracts and memoranda of understanding (MOUs)
Problem solving and analytical skills to evaluate and address contractor and supplier performance issues and recommend plans for improvement.
Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills to liaise with all levels within the organization and on construction sites.
