Original job description
An established real estate development and project management firm is expanding its Ontario operations and looking to add a Civil Engineering Technologist or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to its growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of building a new Ontario division, contributing to a diverse portfolio of residential, seniors' housing, multi-residential and institutional projects. Working alongside senior leadership and an experienced project team, you'll have the opportunity to take an active role across the project lifecycle, from civil design and site servicing through stormwater management, municipal approvals, permitting and construction support.
You'll be involved in preparing civil design and drafting packages using AutoCAD Civil 3D, developing grading, drainage and servicing plans, assisting with stormwater management reports and calculations, and coordinating municipal engineering submissions and approvals. You'll also work closely with consultants, municipalities, utilities and construction teams, supporting technical reviews, contractor RFIs, site reviews and project delivery.
The initial focus will be on projects across the Greater Toronto Area, with opportunities to support developments nationally. This position offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement, with flexibility around location and an openness to travel as project requirements dictate.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Civil Engineering degree (EIT) or Civil Engineering Technology diploma.
- 2+ years of experience in civil design, land development or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil design/drafting principles.
- Familiarity with grading, servicing, stormwater management and site development.
- Understanding of Ontario municipal approvals, engineering standards and permitting processes.
- Experience preparing engineering drawings, reports and technical submissions.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional registration or eligibility for registration with PEO (EIT) or OACETT is an asset.
WHY CONSIDER THIS OPPORTUNITY?
- Be part of building and growing a new Ontario division.
- Gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of development projects.
- Work closely with senior leadership and an experienced multidisciplinary team.
- Enjoy a hybrid/remote work environment with flexibility around location.
- Contribute to projects across the GTA, with opportunities for broader national involvement.
