Original job description

Overview

The Microsoft 365 Intelligent Conversation and Communications Cloud (IC3) powers billions of real-time interactions across Copilot experiences, Microsoft Teams, Dynamics, and solutions built on Azure Communication Services. Operating across 25+ global regions, our messaging platform processes billions of messages daily and supports hundreds of millions of users, including 400M+ monthly active users across Copilot and Teams products. In IC3, we’re building Copilot and Teams messaging capabilities that turn conversations, meetings, and everyday interactions into shared understanding, lasting knowledge, and action. Join us to shape how agents participate in collaboration and help teams carry work forward.

We are building the next generation of messaging infrastructure at the intersection of distributed systems and AI.

Our mission is to evolve messaging beyond communication into a foundational AI capability, providing the real-time conversational context and memory that enable Copilot and intelligent agents to deliver richer, grounded, multi-turn experiences.

This creates unique engineering challenges: building globally distributed systems with high throughput and low latency while meeting demanding requirements for reliability, security, privacy, compliance, data sovereignty, and cost efficiency.

If you are excited about large-scale distributed systems, real-time data, and building infrastructure for AI-powered experiences, this is an opportunity to have impact across some of Microsoft's most important products.
