Role Title: Senior AI Engineer – Full-Stack & Ambient Voice (Startup / On-Site)
Location: Montreal, QC (100% On-Site)

About the Role
We are looking for an exceptionally ambitious, high-velocity Senior AI Engineer who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership startup environments. You will work 100% on-site alongside our core team in Montreal to build, scale, and refine our next-generation AI agent ecosystem - focusing directly on ambient AI scribes and autonomous AI receptionists.
This is not a corporate, incremental role. You will have full ownership across the stack: orchestrating cutting-edge AI voice models, building ultra-low latency backend systems, and shipping intuitive frontend interfaces. If you love zero-to-one engineering, solving hard technical problems in real time, and moving fast without sacrificing architectural quality, this role is built for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Ship End-to-End AI Systems: Move rapidly from concept to production on real-time Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), LLM orchestration, and autonomous receptionist/scribe w
- Full-Stack Ownership: Architect high-performance backend microservices, resilient APIs, and responsive frontend UI applications.
- Voice & Ambient Pipelines: Build low-latency streaming audio infrastructure (WebSockets, WebRTC) with robust RAG, tool calling, and multi-agent routing.
- Integrations & Data Infrastructure: Build secure data pipelines and connect to core third-party APIs (calendars, EHR/EMR, CRM, communication platforms).
- Speed, Security & Reliability: Maintain rapid product iteration speed while guaranteeing high availability and strict data compliance (e.g., Law 25, HIPAA).
What We Are Looking For
- Startup Mindset & High Ambition: Obsessed with impact, execution speed, and high-ownership environments. You take raw ideas and deliver polished production code
- 5+ Years in AI/ML & Engineering: Proven track record of building, shipping, and maintaining real-world AI applications, agent frameworks, or real-time voice architectures.
- Full-Stack Mastery: Modern stack fluency across backend and frontend (Python, FastAPI, Node.js, TypeScript, React, Next.js).
- Voice & Conversational AI Tech: Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, vector databases, and real-time audio streams.
- Solid Infrastructure: Deep understanding of relational/non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) and cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- 100% On-Site in Montreal: Excited to collaborate in person with the team every day.
Nice to Have
- Prior early-stage startup experience (founding team, early engineering hire, or venture-backed startup).
- Experience in regulated industries (healthcare tech, legal tech) or edge-deployed AI models.
- Professional fluency in French and English.
