Role Description The Software Engineer will be a full-time, on-site team member based in the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area, contributing directly to the development of Milya’s AI-powered dental solutions. In this role, the engineer will design, build, and maintain back-end services and APIs that support products like the AI dental scribe and virtual receptionist. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing system performance, writing clean and testable code, and collaborating with product, AI, and design teams to deliver reliable, scalable software. The engineer will participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, integrate third-party services where needed, and help ensure security, reliability, and maintainability across the platform.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-quality applications.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.
- Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, microservices, or containerization (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) is an asset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Interest in AI-driven products and/or experience working with AI or ML-powered systems is a plus.
- Commitment to writing maintainable, secure, and well-documented code in a fast-paced environment.
