Vice President of Engineering

A growing Montreal-based technology company is recruiting a Vice President of Engineering.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering executive who can combine strong technical judgment with the ability to build, scale, and lead a high-performing engineering organization.

The company operates in a complex, data-driven technology environment and is entering an important phase of growth. The VP Engineering will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, strengthening the engineering function, and supporting the continued evolution of the platform and organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop the engineering organization, including team structure, hiring, performance, and leadership development.
• Define and execute the engineering strategy in partnership with the executive team.
• Guide architectural, platform, infrastructure, and technology decisions.
• Build scalable engineering processes while maintaining speed, quality, and accountability.
• Partner closely with Product and other business functions to translate company priorities into effective technical execution.
• Strengthen engineering practices around reliability, security, scalability, and delivery.
• Help attract and retain strong technical talent.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership.

What We’re Looking For

• Significant experience leading software engineering teams in a growing technology organization.
• Previous experience as a VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, Senior Director, CTO, or similar senior technical leader.
• Strong background in SaaS, cloud platforms, data-intensive products, AI, health technology, life sciences technology, or similarly complex software environments.
• Demonstrated experience scaling engineering teams, systems, and processes.
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and engineering best practices.
• Proven ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment is highly valued.
