Role Description The Chocolatier is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. This role involves producing high-quality artisan chocolates, including ganache-filled bars and bonbons, following established recipes and standards. Daily tasks include tempering chocolate, preparing fillings, decorating confections, and ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and appearance. The Chocolatier will also assist with inventory of ingredients, equipment cleanliness, and adherence to food safety and operational procedures. Collaboration with the café team to support product displays and occasional customer-facing activities may be required to ensure an excellent in-store experience.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Bakery and Baking skills, including precise measurement and oven use.
- Hands-on experience in Confectionery, with an understanding of chocolate tempering and candy-making techniques.
- Background in Pastry and Culinary Skills, including flavor pairing and presentation of desserts.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and basic kitchen operations.
- Attention to detail, consistency in production, and pride in craftsmanship.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a chocolate shop, bakery, pastry kitchen, or similar environment is an asset.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays as needed.
