Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) is seeking a Business Support Specialist to help keep the Office of Inclusion running smoothly by supporting communications, daily operations, and internal processes. This position serves as a key connector between the office, state agency partners, and the public, ensuring information is shared clearly and questions are handled promptly. The incumbent will help plan and coordinate meetings and events, keep important records organized, and make sure staff have what they need to do their work. This is a key role on the team that supports purchasing, hiring logistics, technology needs, and other operational tasks. Overall, this role plays in important part in helping the office build strong relationships and advance its work to support a more inclusive, equitable Minnesota.

Job Duties For This Position Include

  • Coordinating and supporting communications by drafting messages, managing the team newsletter, maintaining digital content, and ensuring materials meet accessibility standards.
  • Planning and organizing meetings and events by preparing materials, managing logistics, and documenting outcomes.
  • Managing administrative systems by organizing files, maintaining records, and updating key operational documents.
  • Leading core operational processes by supporting purchasing, staffing logistics, presentation delivery format drafting and finalization, technology coordination, and enterprise procedures.

Telework options for this position are dependent on where the employee lives. With approval, employees that live within 50 miles from the primary work location may telework up to 50%. Employees that live 50 miles or more from the primary location and live in Minnesota may telework more than 50% with approval. This position may also require occasional in-person attendance to support team activities, including summits, tabling initiatives, workshops, enterprise meetings, and other collaborative engagements, as needed.
