About The Role

Minth North America is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Stamping / Roll Forming Process Engineer to join our fast-growing Body Structure Technology Center (BTC NA). This role is critical in driving manufacturing excellence through feasibility studies, design optimization, and advanced tooling development using simulation technologies.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in stamping and roll forming processes, a deep understanding of sheet metal and metallurgy, and a proactive mindset to challenge conventional approaches. This role operates in a global, multicultural environment and requires close collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities 1. Process Development & DFM Leadership

  • Conduct feasibility studies and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analyses
  • Lead the end-to-end development of stamping and roll forming processes
  • Define press tonnage, tooling/dies, materials, and product configurations for RFQ and development stages
  • Develop and optimize tooling/dies using simulation tools (e.g., AutoForm), including spring-back compensation
  • Establish cycle times and ensure inclusion of poka-yoke features to meet quality standards
  • Identify process risks and develop validation/testing methods aligned with industry standards
  • Communicate technical requirements and ensure execution within timeline and budget

2. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Review and approve stamping/roll forming presses and tooling
  • Analyze production issues related to equipment, tooling, and processes; implement corrective actions
  • Drive improvements to achieve target Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Evaluate current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for innovation and cost reduction
  • Lead research initiatives to develop advanced or next-generation manufacturing processes

3. Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide engineering support and technical consultation across departments
  • Participate in customer meetings and track technical open issues
  • Manage engineering changes and develop process documentation (e.g., PFMEA)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to ensure alignment and success

4. Professional Development

  • Maintain and expand knowledge of manufacturing technologies, materials, and industry trends
  • Engage in continuous learning through seminars, workshops, and technical publications
  • Monitor competitor technologies and emerging innovations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive stamping and/or roll forming processes and tooling development
  • Hands-on experience with press setup and die optimization
  • Experience working with aluminum and/or steel forming processes
  • Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., AutoForm) for predicting material behavior and reducing prototyping
  • Strong CAD skills for data review, sectioning, and manufacturing print creation
  • Experience with one or more additional processes:
    • Aluminum extrusion
    • Roll forming
    • Welding (CMT, FSW, Laser)
    • Riveting or emerging joining technologies
Key Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative, solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural environments
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and learn from experience
