Details
This position follows a
hybrid work model, with an expectation of in-office attendance three days each week. The expected
compensation range for this position is posted below and is based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The upper end of this range is reserved for exceptional, top-tier candidates. We use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to assist in the evaluation of applications.

What You'll Do
- Own the design and delivery of complex full stack features of our React Native + MERN stack mobile and web applications, from data model and architecture through to polished UI, exercising sound technical judgment with minimal oversight.
- Work directly with consultants, executives, and client stakeholders to shape technical solutions to real operational problems, and communicate tradeoffs clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Set technical direction and raise the bar on code quality by leading design/code reviews, mentoring intermediate and junior developers, and championing best practices across the codebase.
- Diagnose and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, production issues, and architectural risks before they impact users, balancing shipping speed with long-term maintainability.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Web Developer, with deep, hands-on production experience in the MERN stack .
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert working knowledge in JavaScript, React (including Redux or Redux Toolkit for state management), and modern front-end practices for building and scaling large applications.
- Expert working knowledge with Node.js and Express, including designing and building RESTful APIs and service architecture.
- Expert working knowledge with MongoDB and an ODM such as Mongoose (schema design, query optimization, indexing) at scale.
- Expert working knowledge writing and championing unit, integration (e.g. Jest, Testing Library, or similar), and UI tests (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, or similar).
- Strong track record with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows (branching, pull requests, code review), including setting review standards for a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Strong working knowledge using AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development, review code, and improve team productivity.
- Strong working knowledge with Redis, caching strategies, or session/state management at scale.
- Strong experience mentoring other developers and influencing technical direction or architecture decisions.
- Experience in an Agile (Scrum / Kanban) development environment, including helping shape process for a team.
- Familiar with Mobile development using React Native.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking directly with consultants, executives, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider (Azure, GCP), including infrastructure/architecture decisions.
- Experience with real-time features using Socket.IO or similar WebSocket technology.
- Experience with UI component libraries (e.g. RSuite, Material UI, or similar) and charting/visualization libraries (e.g. Chart.js, D3.js).
- Experience integrating third-party or AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic) into production applications.
- Experience owning or building CI/CD pipelines and build tooling.
- Prior experience in a startup, consulting, or client-facing environment.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks such as Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Process Improvement (CPI), Business Process Management (BPM), Operational Excellence (OpEx).
- Prior experience as a technical lead, or interest in growing into a formal technical leadership role.

The Pay Range For This Role Is
80,000 - 130,000 CAD per year(Canadian HQ)
