As one of the largest firms in Canada, we have the bench strength and geographic scope to meet the increasingly complex needs of clients.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Specific Claims associate lawyer with a minimum of two to five years of relevant experience to join our advocacy group to be based in our Regina office. • Collaborate with researchers, historians, elders, and community leadership to gather necessary evidence and testimony
  • Provide strategic legal advice on litigation risks, settlement offers, and compensation criteria

This is an opportunity to join a top tier law firm, to work on diverse and complex files in a collaborative environment and to learn from skilled lawyers while developing expertise in Indigenous, environmental and regulatory litigation.

Qualifications include:

  • Member in good standing with a Canadian Law Society (Law Society of Saskatchewan or eligible for mobility/transfer)
  • Minimum [2–5+] years of demonstrated experience in Aboriginal law, civil litigation, or specifically handling Specific Claims against the federal government
  • In-depth knowledge of the Specific Claims Tribunal Act and federal specific claims policies
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-cultural communication skills, with a commitment to First Nations' rights and self-determination
