R&D Technician – Digital Dentistry

Argen is growing and seeking a skilled
Research & Development Technician, Product Development to support the development, testing, and validation of innovative dental materials and digital dentistry solutions. This hands-on role combines advanced dental laboratory expertise with product evaluation, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You Will Do
- Fabricate and process zirconia crowns and other dental samples, including finishing, staining, characterization, and glazing.
- Perform shade matching and esthetic evaluations with exceptional attention to colour, translucency, and detail.
- Execute product testing, workflow studies, and validation activities.
- Identify technical issues, investigate potential root causes, and communicate observations with supporting evidence.
- Operate and troubleshoot dental laboratory equipment, including CAD/CAM systems, mills, furnaces, cameras, and 3D printers.
- Coordinate professionally with vendors and external partners to resolve equipment, software, material, or workflow issues.
- Document test methods, observations, photographs, and results with accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with Business Development, R&D, Operations, and Technical Support teams on product development initiatives.
- Contribute technical content, images, samples, and workflow guidance for sales enablement and training materials.
What You Bring
- Dental Technician diploma, certification, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience with ceramic and esthetic restorations, including zirconia finishing and characterization.
- Experience with CAD/CAM, digital design, 3D printing, dental photography, or colour measurement technologies.
- Strong shade-matching skills and an excellent eye for esthetics.
- Knowledge of contemporary dental laboratory workflows and zirconia materials.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and confidence learning technical software and digital workflows.
- Experience with product testing, validation activities, or technical reporting is an asset.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including extended periods of sitting or standing, close visual work, fine motor dexterity, repetitive use of hand tools, operation of dental laboratory equipment, and routine computer work.
