Make an impact as a Quality Engineering & Testing Manager to lead and strengthen quality engineering across the Digital Solutions practice. This role will establish practical testing standards, advance automation and AI-enabled testing, promote test-driven development and other shift-left quality practices, define risk-based assurance for vibe-coded and AI-generated software, support accessibility and compliance testing, coach delivery teams, and help implement new ways of working through MNP Digital’s Client Zero initiative.

This is both a practice-building and client delivery role. The successful candidate will work closely with Delivery Excellence, Enterprise Architecture, Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, Security, and client teams to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle. This includes close collaboration between developers and quality engineers on test-first design, automated unit testing, continuous feedback, and independent validation of code produced through natural-language prompting or AI coding assistants.

Quality engineering is central to predictable delivery, responsible innovation, and client confidence. This Manager will help MNP Digital improve delivery consistency, strengthen estimation, increase appropriate automation, reduce rework, and build a sustainable quality engineering capability across Digital Solutions. The role will also help the practice adopt practical AI-enabled, test-driven, and vibe-coding ways of working with appropriate human oversight and quality controls.

Responsibilities

Build the Capability

Establish and continuously improve MNP Digital testing and quality engineering standards, methods, templates, quality gates, and reusable delivery assets.
Build a Quality Engineering Community of Practice and coach Business Analysts, QA testers, Developers, Project Managers, and delivery leaders on practical testing approaches, including test-driven development, behaviour-driven development, automated unit testing, and shift-left quality practices.
Define practical guidance for applying test-driven development across relevant technology stacks, including effective test design, code quality expectations, continuous integration, and appropriate measures of test coverage and maintainability.
Establish minimum assurance requirements for vibe-coded and AI-generated solutions, including prompt and requirements traceability, independent test design, human code review, static analysis, dependency and licence review, secrets scanning, security testing, accessibility testing, and evidence-based release approval.
Develop scalable automation frameworks and support responsible adoption of AI-enabled testing, including test generation, test data creation, regression automation, defect analysis, and quality reporting, with controls to verify AI-generated tests are meaningful, maintainable, and independent of the code-generation prompt.
Assess current quality engineering and software development practices and identify opportunities to improve how teams work through test-first delivery, vibe coding, and practical use of AI, including through MNP Digital’s Client Zero initiative.
Pilot, evaluate, and scale AI-enabled testing, test-driven delivery, and controlled vibe-coding practices that improve productivity, consistency, knowledge reuse, defect prevention, defect analysis, reporting, and overall quality outcomes.
Develop reusable accessibility and compliance testing practices, checklists, and reporting templates that can be applied consistently across client engagements, including public sector and regulated environments.
Identify capability gaps and support recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and development of quality engineering resources.

Lead Client Delivery

Lead testing strategies for complex digital engagements and provide oversight across multiple concurrent client projects.
Advise clients and delivery teams on test-driven development; testing of vibe-coded and AI-generated solutions; and functional, unit, integration, regression, API, performance, security, accessibility, compliance, and user acceptance testing.
Partner with development leads to embed test-first acceptance criteria, automated tests, continuous integration, and fast quality feedback into delivery workflows, including workflows where solutions are created or modified through prompts and AI coding assistants.
Define risk-based test strategies for vibe-coded solutions that validate intended behaviour, edge cases, error handling, data integrity, privacy, security, accessibility, performance, integrations, and regression risk rather than relying solely on successful demonstrations or AI-generated tests.
Define and oversee accessibility testing approaches aligned to client requirements, including WCAG, AODA, public sector, and broader digital accessibility obligations.
Incorporate compliance-focused testing into test strategies, including evidence collection, defect prioritization, traceability, release readiness, and clear reporting for client stakeholders.
Review requirements, prompts, architecture, solution designs, generated code, dependencies, and code delivery approaches for testability, quality, security, maintainability, and delivery risk.
Establish meaningful quality metrics and communicate risks, recommendations, and release decisions clearly to client and MNP leaders.
Require clear evidence for release readiness of vibe-coded solutions, including reviewed prompts and requirements, source control history, test results, unresolved risks, dependency provenance, and accountable human approval.

Bring Commercial Discipline

Develop testing estimates, assumptions, work plans, staffing models, and delivery approaches for proposals and active engagements, including the effort and enablement required to establish test-driven development and risk-based assurance for vibe-coded solutions.
Support Statements of Work, RFP responses, solution designs, and client presentations.
Manage testing activities within approved scope, schedule, and budget, and escalate variances early.
Operate effectively in a billable consulting environment and contribute to strong utilization, healthy engagement economics, and value-based delivery.
Balance quality outcomes with client priorities, contractual commitments, delivery risk, and engagement economics.

Skills and Experience

5–7 years of progressive experience in testing, quality assurance, quality engineering, or software development, including experience leading testing activities in consulting, professional services, systems integration, or complex client delivery environments.
Minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams, workstreams, or quality engineering initiatives across multiple projects or client engagements.
Demonstrated practical experience with test-driven development, including writing or guiding automated unit tests, designing testable code, using mocks or test doubles appropriately, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and coaching teams on test-first delivery.
Ability to assess when test-driven development is appropriate, tailor the approach to different delivery contexts and technology stacks, and balance coverage, maintainability, delivery speed, and risk.
Experience establishing governance and quality gates for AI-assisted development, including approved tool usage, protection of client and confidential information, intellectual property and license considerations, traceability, human review, segregation of duties, and release accountability.
Practical experience testing software produced through AI coding assistants or natural-language prompting, including the ability to identify plausible but incorrect behaviour, insecure patterns, hidden assumptions, weak exception handling, unverified dependencies, inadequate tests, and maintainability concerns.
Demonstrated success estimating, planning, and managing testing work across fixed-fee and time-and-materials engagements.
Experience overseeing multiple projects, distributed teams, and competing client priorities.
Strong knowledge of modern testing disciplines, automation practices, tools, code quality practices, quality metrics, and emerging approaches for validating software generated through natural-language prompts and AI coding assistants.
Curiosity and practical experience exploring how AI can improve delivery practices, team productivity, quality outcomes, and client value, balanced with responsible adoption, governance, and change management.
Practical experience planning and executing accessibility and compliance testing, including familiarity with WCAG and related accessibility standards commonly required in client delivery.
Ability to work across technology domains relevant to MNP Digital, including Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure, custom applications, data platforms, Digital Experience Platforms, integrations, and AI-enabled solutions.
Strong client advisory, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate quality risks into practical business recommendations.
