Hi, I’m Matthias and I lead Sales at Modash

I’m in a need for a killer Sales Manager to take over our North America team.

Background & reason for hiring

Today, I run the entire sales org & everyone reports to me - meaning the headcount I manage has grown out of hand. Not only that, but we’re expected to grow at least 70% in 2027. Making it impossible for me to effectively scale the team on my own.

For our NA AEs this today means that:

They aren’t getting the depth of coaching & 1-1 development they need
There’s nobody to actively join meetings & support key deals
Their calls & deals aren’t actively reviewed and given feedback on

All in all this results in slower growth & delivering inconsistent customer experiences. I’m looking for someone to take full ownership over running our NA Account Executive team - currently 6 people & growing. You’ll be responsible for delivering the majority of the sales team revenue, since the NA team is the biggest.

Scope of the role & some examples

Example 1: Coaching

You’ll run the day-to-day people management:

Weekly 1:1s and individual growth plans
Reviewing deals and call recordings, giving direct & specific feedback
Tracking each rep’s attainment and stepping in early when someone is falling behind
Running performance improvement plans when needed - you’ll need to be comfortable with hard conversations

Example 2: Managing team performance

Running pipeline reviews
Enforcing CRM hygiene, sales process & methodology
Weekly/monthly reporting on attainment, risks & what needs to change
Helping reps unblock key opportunities, including joining deal reviews and approving non-standard pricing or quotes
Escalating compensation, tooling, enablement or resources issues
Supporting hiring via sourcing, interviewing, and assessing future team-members.

Team structure

You'll report to me & today you’ll get 6 direct reports yourself in the Toronto area.

You'll work closely with - Audrey & Steven, who are taking care of our AE Onboarding & Enablement + Sales Ops. They own the sales systems and the ramp curriculum. You’ll own making sure that the team actually performs to the highest degree.

You’ll also work with our marketing & success leads to ensure smooth experience across the entire customer journey for all our clients.

HubSpot → CRM and pipeline management
Avoma → call recording and reviews
Notion → internal knowledge base
Slack → internal communication
Calendly → scheduling
Custom internal tools for quoting and reporting

You have previously managed account executives (teams of 5-10+), not someone that’s doing it for the first time.
Proper coaching ability - you can diagnose why someone is struggling and change their behavior within a few conversations
You’ve run a full PIPs or handled hard performance conversations - not just given given feedback.
Strong consultative sales skills to take over/assist in any live sales conversations.
Comfortable building momentum in a remote environment - you’ll be managing a team that’s fully remote themselves. I am moving around a lot between Europe, North America & Asia, so I won’t be constantly looking over your shoulder & I need someone I can trust to hold high expectations for the team.
B2B SAAS background.

70/30 compensation split ~180k-205 CAD OTE + stock options
