The Construction Technology Platform Manager - Material Planning & Purchasing is accountable for maximizing the business value, operational consistency, and long-term strategic impact of Modern Niagara's technology ecosystem supporting project material planning, material-demand forecasting, purchasing, and procurement. This role owns the domain roadmap, governance model, prioritization framework, product backlog, and value-realization strategy, while also ensuring the day-to-day health and effective operation of the supporting platforms.

Key Impact / Purpose
- Set and maintain the domain vision, technology roadmap, governance model, and priorities for material planning, purchasing, and procurement.
- Translate project and operational needs into scalable platform capabilities, workflows, integrations, standards, and adoption priorities.
- Measure domain performance and value through adoption, process compliance, data quality, workflow efficiency, demand visibility, and operational outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the technology roadmaps for material planning, material demand forecasting, purchasing, and procurement, balancing immediate project needs with long-term domain maturity.
- Evaluate enhancements, new capabilities, releases, pilots, integrations, and process-redesign opportunities, and develop business cases for major investments.
- Establish and maintain domain governance, including decision rights, intake processes, prioritization rules, escalation paths, and approval forums.
- Own and prioritize the domain backlog across enhancements, workflow changes, reporting needs, integrations, adoption improvements, and support requirements.
- Gather requirements from Operations, project teams, Finance, IT, Data, Analytics, Manufacturing, and executive stakeholders, then communicate priorities, trade-offs, and sequencing decisions.
- Define outcomes and KPIs related to adoption, process compliance, data completeness, workflow cycle times, demand visibility, purchasing performance, reporting, and value realization.
- Manage platform configuration, workflow standards, permissions, templates, documentation, training, onboarding, functional support, and recurring issue resolution across the domain.
- Partner with IT, Analytics, Integration Specialists, and Data Engineers to define requirements for ERP, Power BI, scheduling, labour planning, fabrication, service, and other connected systems.
- Assess product releases and technology changes for operational, technical, training, governance, integration, and data impacts, then lead testing and rollout readiness.
- Lead the domain adoption strategy, define expectations for good usage, identify barriers, and ensure adoption improves process consistency, project execution, and decision-making.
Must Haves
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Technology Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of construction operations and platform experience.
- 7 to 12+ years of experience in construction operations, construction technology, project delivery, business systems, material management, procurement, digital transformation, or platform ownership.
- Strong experience with construction, material planning, purchasing, procurement, or comparable enterprise workflow platforms.
- Demonstrated experience defining roadmaps, managing backlogs, leading governance, or owning business requirements for enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of construction material planning, demand forecasting, purchasing, procurement, field operations, project controls, and project lifecycle processes.
- Strong stakeholder leadership, facilitation, decision-making, communication, and change-leadership skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Working knowledge of ERP, reporting, middleware, APIs, cloud databases, analytics environments, data flows, and integration dependencies.
- Ability to work primarily in an office environment with frequent weekly site engagement and regular movement through active construction environments.

- Experience supporting multiple projects, regions, departments, or business units.
- Experience with material-demand forecasting, purchasing controls, procurement workflows, fabrication or manufacturing supply processes, and ERP-connected transactions.
- Experience with Power BI reporting, integrations, enterprise analytics, data governance, or master-data practices.
- Experience developing business cases, value-realization measures, prioritization frameworks, and executive performance reporting.
- Experience leading enterprise adoption, release evaluation, platform pilots, training programs, or cross-functional operating-model design.
This is a new position. Expected annual compensation; $120,000 - $140,000
