Role Summary

The Electrical Project Coordinator Co-op supports the successful delivery of electrical construction projects by assisting Project Managers, Site Superintendents, and project teams with project coordination, document control, procurement, scheduling, and administrative activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to project delivery while helping ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Modern Niagara standards.

Through accurate documentation, organized project tracking, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, they help keep projects moving forward while developing the next generation of construction professionals.

Support project teams in delivering safe, high-quality electrical construction projects.
Contribute to effective project execution through accurate documentation, coordination, and communication.
Build foundational project management and construction industry experience while supporting operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide administrative and project coordination support to Project Managers, Project Teams, and Site Superintendents.
Assist with organizing, tracking, and distributing project drawings, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and project documentation.
Support procurement activities, including the creation and tracking of purchase orders for subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
Assist with change order management, project logs, and project-related correspondence.
Maintain project filing systems and document control processes.
Support project forecasting, scheduling updates, and reporting requirements.
Assist with the preparation of project start-up documentation and closeout packages.
Track and maintain project communications and records.
Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action item logs as required.
Participate in site visits and gain exposure to field operations and project execution.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Must Haves:

Currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power Engineering, or a related post-secondary program.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and work in both office and construction site settings.
Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills.

Nice to Haves:

Previous construction, field, or co-op experience.
Exposure to electrical building systems or electrical construction projects.
Experience with project management, construction management, scheduling, or estimating software.
Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
Experience working on-site within a construction environment.

Expected hourly compensation; $23 - $25.
