Store Manager-In-Training for London

Benefits at 3 months

Pension at 1 year

At Moffatt & Powell, we are committed to excellent customer service, strong leadership, and continuous learning. The Store Manager in Training (MIT) position is designed for employees who already demonstrate strong leadership qualities and are ready to further develop their management skills and knowledge of the business.

Working closely with the Store Manager(s), the MIT will build on their leadership experience while gaining hands-on exposure to team development, customer service, store and yard operations, sales, inventory management, merchandising, and overall store performance.

Qualifications & Skills

Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to positively influence and support others
Strong communication and teamwork
Ability to coach, provide feedback, and motivate others
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
Strong planning, organization, and time management
Accountability, dependability, integrity
Adaptability and willingness to learn
Customer and results focused

Key Responsibilities

Support the company’s mission, values, and positive workplace culture.
Work with Store Manager(s) to support store performance and an excellent customer experience.
Develop knowledge of store and yard operations, merchandising, inventory, ordering, and cycle counts.
Assist with interviewing, training, coaching, and employee development.
Build strong relationships with retail, professional, and commercial customers.
Lead by example in customer service, product knowledge, problem-solving, and sales.
Identify opportunities to grow sales and strengthen relationships within the local community.
Follow and support company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

Development Opportunity

This opportunity is designed for individuals who have demonstrated leadership potential, are comfortable taking initiative and supporting others, and are ready to prepare for future management opportunities within Moffatt & Powell.

Why this is stronger: It distinguishes between learning how to be a manager and learning how to lead. You're looking for someone who already shows leadership behaviours, and the MIT program helps turn those skills into broader management capability.

Moffatt and Powell is committed to an inclusive and barrier free workplace. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. We are Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

We would like to thank all those who apply; however, we will only be contacting those candidates that we believe will be a successful fit in our organization.
