Storytelling is an important part of the MSA’s culture, as it seeks to tell, share, and learn from student stories in meaningful ways.
Role Description The Culinary Operations Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Hamilton, ON, responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of MSA culinary services. This role coordinates menu planning, inventory management, and production schedules to ensure efficient and consistent food service delivery across MSA venues. The coordinator works closely with culinary and front-of-house teams to maintain quality standards, food safety compliance, and a welcoming environment for students and guests. Daily responsibilities include monitoring sales and service performance, assisting with staffing schedules, supporting supplier relationships, tracking costs, and preparing administrative reports. The role also contributes to customer service excellence by responding to feedback, helping implement promotions and events, and aligning culinary operations with MSA’s student-focused mission.
Qualifications

Strong Operations Management skills, including experience coordinating food service or hospitality operations and optimizing workflows.
Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with culinary teams, campus partners, and vendors, and for providing clear guidance and updates.
Customer Service abilities to ensure a positive experience for students and guests, including handling inquiries and resolving concerns professionally.
Analytical Skills to interpret sales, cost, and inventory data, and to support decision-making that improves efficiency and quality.
Administrative Assistance capabilities such as scheduling, documentation, record-keeping, and preparing operational reports.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards; experience in a commercial kitchen, food service, or hospitality environment is an asset.
Ability to work on-site in Hamilton, ON, with flexibility to support operations during peak periods and special events.
Post-secondary education or training in hospitality, culinary management, business, or a related field is preferred.
