Original job description

Senior Operations & Delivery Manager

Vancouver, BC | Hybrid (3-4 days in-office) | CAD $ 100,000-140,000 | Full-time

About Monachus

Monachus helps early-stage startups build scalable systems for compliance, security, and operations. Without the chaos. We're a small, high-trust team based in Vancouver, BC, and our clients are spread across North America. We work closely with founders and technical teams who are moving fast and need security and compliance done right, not just done.

“Monachus” is Latin for monk, meaning diligent, dedicated, wise. If you care about doing high-quality work, being hands-on in the world of compliance, learning constantly, and having real ownership over outcomes, this is the kind of place where that actually happens.

The Role

We're hiring an Operations & Delivery Manager to build the operating system behind how Monachus delivers. As Monachus grows, we’re continuing to strengthen the systems and operating rhythms that support consistent, high-quality client delivery. You’ll play a key role in building and improving these practices.

You’ll work closely with leadership and delivery teams to support smooth, consistent client engagements and strengthen the way Monachus operates as it grows.

What You'll Do

Own delivery standards. Define how engagements kick off, run, and close, and hold the team to them.
Plan capacity ahead of demand. Match the pipeline to people so deadlines hold and nobody burns out.
Protect delivery health. Track billing accuracy, utilization, and engagement profitability, and act on what the numbers show.
Get ahead of risk. Spot delays and scope issues early, and make sure clients hear about them from us first.
Connect the lifecycle. Close the gaps between sales, delivery, and renewal so nothing gets dropped at handoffs.
Build enablement. Create onboarding, communication training, and meeting frameworks that raise the bar for every consultant.
Drive change. Prioritize process and AI improvements with a clear business case, and bring the team along.
Support the team. Partner on retention, culture, and working-model decisions as we grow.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Background

5+ years in delivery operations, PMO, or professional services operations
Experience running resourcing and capacity planning across multiple client engagements at once
Have owned or closely managed delivery financials like billing, utilization, and margin
Experience building delivery processes from scratch at a growing company, not just kept existing ones running
Communicate directly and clearly with clients, consultants, and leadership
Are comfortable with ambiguity and broad ownership in a startup environment

Tools & Systems

Comfortable using project-management and time-tracking tools to coordinate work and maintain delivery visibility.
Able to build and maintain reporting on capacity, utilization, and engagement performance.
Uses AI tools thoughtfully to improve planning, documentation, reporting, and day-to-day operations.

Bonus Points

Exposure to GRC, SOC 2 or security/compliance is a plus.
Experience leading AI adoption or other change initiatives
Experience designing and delivering consultant training or professional-skills workshops.

Culture Fit Matters at Monachus

You’ll Thrive Here If You

Constantly look for ways to improve systems, workflows, and delivery quality
Collaborate well and prioritize alignment over ego
Can take direction, follow operating systems, and improve them instead of fighting them
Move fast without sacrificing quality
Take ownership and operate with high accountability
Enjoy building scalable processes and improving how work gets done
Are curious about new tools and technologies and actively experiment with AI to improve how work gets done

Why Monachus

Direct impact with startup founders and leadership teams
Small, high-trust team with autonomy
Strong focus on quality, structure, and continuous improvement
Work that values originality, depth, and thoughtful execution over templates or audit checklists

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

We review every application. If you're a fit, someone from our team will reach out within 5 business days to introduce themselves and share next steps.
