About The Role
The Media Operations team supports clients in leveraging digital media platforms and technology to achieve their marketing and business goals. We provide strategic guidance, platform expertise, and ongoing support to help clients maximize the value of their media investments.
In this Senior Delivery Lead, Strategic Accounts – Programmatic role, you will serve as a strategic advisor and primary point of contact for a portfolio of large, complex clients. You'll leverage your programmatic media expertise to provide strategic recommendations, industry insights, and technology solutions that drive long-term business value.
Unlike traditional hands-on media activation roles, this position focuses on strategic consulting, client relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration rather than day-to-day campaign execution. You'll partner with internal teams across media, data, analytics, and creative to ensure clients receive integrated, high-quality solutions.
Note: This role is based in Canada, with Toronto preferred. Vancouver-based candidates may also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor and primary point of contact for large, complex client accounts, building strong relationships and understanding their business objectives.
- Provide expert guidance on programmatic advertising strategies, emerging technologies, platform capabilities, and industry trends to help clients maximize their media investments.
- Develop and communicate strategic recommendations, actionable insights, and points of view (POVs) tailored to clients' business challenges and opportunities.
- Oversee client engagements and coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving media, data, analytics, creative, and other internal teams, ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Leverage your understanding of programmatic platforms and managed-service media operations to advise clients on best practices, performance opportunities, and technology solutions.
- Analyze and interpret campaign performance, market trends, and relevant data to identify opportunities and translate findings into meaningful business recommendations.
- Lead client meetings, strategic discussions, and presentations, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Proactively identify client needs, anticipate challenges, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate internal resources to deliver effective solutions.
- Manage competing priorities across multiple accounts and projects while maintaining strong client satisfaction and high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, share industry knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement across the Media Operations team.
- Identify opportunities to expand client partnerships and deliver additional strategic value.
The essentials:
We're looking for an experienced programmatic media professional who combines deep technical knowledge with strong strategic thinking, client relationship management, and cross-functional project leadership.
- 7+ years of experience in programmatic advertising, digital media, or related agency-side roles, ideally at an Associate Director or comparable senior level.
- Strong programmatic advertising expertise, including experience with managed-service campaigns and multiple DSPs, such as Google Display & Video 360 (DV360), The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex client accounts, ideally involving multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to provide strategic media consulting, develop actionable recommendations, and translate technical platform knowledge into meaningful business value.
- Strong understanding of the broader digital advertising ecosystem, including media technology, measurement, analytics, and emerging industry trends.
- Experience collaborating with teams across media planning, data, analytics, creative, and other disciplines to support integrated client initiatives.
- Ability to interpret campaign performance data, identify trends and opportunities, and communicate insights clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent client-facing communication, presentation, and relationship management skills, with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives, manage priorities, and ensure timely delivery.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex client challenges with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets, with the ability to work with data and support strategic recommendations.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
