Original job description

At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are - with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action - enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.

If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.

Skills And Competencies

7+ years of experience in Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), financial crime, compliance technology, data, software as a service (SaaS), enterprise software, or a related field, with a strong understanding of bank KYC/AML and financial crime workflows
Strong executive presence and communication skills, with demonstrated success engaging senior decision makers and navigating large, complex financial institutions
Consultative problem-solver able to diagnose client needs across people, process, data, and technology, and translate complex requirements into clear solution narratives and value propositions
Collaborative self-starter able to work across sales, product, strategy, and client-facing teams to support complex sales cycles and go-to-market execution
Demonstrated ability to balance selling into an existing customer base, identifying and advancing cross-sell and upsell opportunities, with proactively sourcing and closing new clients
Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a broader team
Familiarity with AI, automation, analytics, and data-driven workflow transformation is preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.

Education

Undergraduate or first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) required

Responsibilities

Serve as a KYC/AML domain expert, helping financial institutions modernize financial crime workflows while advancing complex sales opportunities.

Co-sell with relationship managers, internal teams, and external partners while independently identifying, qualifying, and advancing KYC/AML opportunities across banks and other financial institutions
Lead discovery to understand client workflows, pain points, business drivers, and technology environments, then translate findings into solution positioning, value drivers, use cases, and next steps
Support complex sales cycles by delivering tailored demonstrations, presentations, proposals, business cases, and account strategies that connect Moody’s capabilities to client needs
Build trusted client relationships as a KYC/AML subject matter expert, bringing practical insight on compliance trends, workflow modernization, data, analytics, automation, and AI
Share client, market, product, and competitive insights with internal teams to inform roadmap priorities, go-to-market strategy, enablement, and sales execution
Represent Moody’s in client meetings, industry events, conferences, and partner forums; travel approximately 30–50% based on business needs; and work from a Moody’s office 2–3 days per week when not traveling, consistent with company policy

About the Team

Our KYC/AML Banking team helps financial institutions address critical compliance, risk, data, and operational challenges. We work with banks to modernize how they manage customer and entity data, conduct due diligence, screen for financial crime risk, and streamline onboarding and ongoing monitoring. As part of Moody’s, you will join a collaborative, client-focused team that brings together deep domain expertise, trusted data, analytics, workflow technology, and responsible AI to help financial institutions make better decisions and operate with greater confidence. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, engaging with clients, partnering across commercial and product teams, and translating regulatory, operational, and technology challenges into practical modernization opportunities.

For Canada-based roles only: The anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $118,700.00 - $168,700.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, vacation, a retirement savings plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.

Moody’s is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, place of origin, disability, marital or familial status, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity or any other characteristic protected by law. We encourage applications from Aboriginal persons, members of a visible minority group, persons with a disability, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and women.

Moody’s is committed to maintaining an inclusive, diverse and accessible workplace. To this end, reasonable accommodations are available on request, and will take into account the particular accommodation needs of individual candidates. If you are selected and require accommodation during any stage of the recruitment process, you may send your request to AODA@moodys.com. Information provided during the accommodation process will be treated as confidential, and will be shared only to the extent required to properly evaluate accommodation requests.

Candidates for Moody's Corporation may be asked to disclose securities holdings pursuant to Moody’s Policy for Securities Trading and the requirements of the position. Employment is contingent upon compliance with the Policy, including remediation of positions in those holdings as necessary.

Moody’s uses artificial intelligence and advanced algorithms that compare candidate resumes to the requirements in job postings to match potential candidates to requisitions in the recruitment process. Moody’s does this to ease the burden on recruiters and hiring managers by highlighting candidates for consideration.
