Position: Accounting Administrator

Location: Edmonton, AB (Full time In-Office)

Department: Finance

Reports To: Corporate Accounting Manager

Status: Full-Time

About the Role:

We are looking for an Accounting Administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in finding ways to make processes more efficient.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting Corporate Accounting through the administration of SAP Concur, expense compliance activities, purchasing administration, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Beyond day-to-day processing, we are looking for someone who is curious, engaged, and motivated to identify opportunities to improve how work gets done.

What You’ll Do:

Accounting Administration & SAP Concur

Administer SAP Concur and support users with questions, training, and troubleshooting.
Review expenses for receipt compliance and adherence with Company policies.
Monitor and follow up on missing receipts, incomplete submissions, and policy exceptions.
Review expense coding for accuracy and completeness, including general ledger accounts, job numbers, and cost codes.
Process expense transactions and reporting activities in accordance with established timelines.
Prepare expense and management reports for Corporate Accounting and operational stakeholders.
Assist with the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation to support audit readiness.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and system functionality.

Purchasing Administration

Issue purchase orders based on approved requests received from operations and support departments.
Respond to inquiries related to purchase orders and purchasing processes.
Support purchasing system administration, testing, and process improvements.
Assist with purchasing reporting and analysis as required.

General Corporate Accounting Support

Support Corporate Accounting through a variety of accounting administration activities, including banking activities, reconciliations, reporting, record maintenance, and other finance-related responsibilities.
Assist with special projects, process improvement initiatives, system administration activities, and emerging Finance priorities as business needs evolve.
Support month-end and year-end accounting activities, including accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and audit support.
Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, efficiency, and reporting.

What You Bring:

Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, finance administration, accounts payable, purchasing administration, or a related role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Experience working with ERP systems and financial software.
SAP Concur experience is considered an asset.
Construction, project-based, or industrial industry experience is considered an asset.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
