Yard Associate
Department: Warehouse Reports to: Yard Manager Location: Ottawa Shift: 6:15AM-3:30PM (shift times may vary and can change based on operational requirements)

We are now looking to expand our team! Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, reliable, hard-working and a team player. You will : greet and serve customers, receive stock, pull and prepare merchandise for delivery, and assist in keeping warehouses maintained and safe.
At Morin Supply, we aim to be the easiest building supply company to deal with.
Responsibilities
- Provides customer service for retail, contractor or professional builder customers.
- Load outgoing merchandise and ensure that merchandise quantity and description match the invoice order.
- Unload incoming merchandise and ensures that merchandise receives matches orders and put in the designated area.
- Evaluates returned merchandise for proper disposition (resale, salvage, etc) and confirm with yard foreman.
- Maintains accurate inventory count
- Maintains a clean yard environment including warehouses, fences and open areas.
- Keep machinery clean and functional.
- Follow compliance of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Help and assist lift truck operators and drivers in the yard.
- One (1) mandatory Saturday every year for inventory (Last weekend of July before Civic Holiday weekend).
- Other duties as required to support the needs of the business
Education
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing or customer service role.
- Previous experience with heavy lifting is considered an asset.
- Strong reading, writing, and basic mathematical skills.
- Familiarity with industrial workplaces and operating around machinery.
- Ability and willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a counterbalance lift truck is considered an asset.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials. Maximum lifting requirement of 100 lbs and frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach as required to perform job duties.
- Requires manual dexterity, adequate depth perception, and a full field of vision.
- Ability to repeatedly rotate the trunk 180 degrees from side to side while holding up to 20 lbs. at arm’s length.
- Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, or squat to floor level.
- Ability to reach overhead to grasp and handle materials.
- Requires sufficient hand and finger dexterity to safely handle materials and equipment.
Working Conditions
- Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.
