Original job description

Convenience Store Manager

Employment Type: Full-time (Requires flexible shifts, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends)

Step into Store Ownership

Are you a natural shopkeeper with a passion for customer service? At Morrisons Daily, we are looking for an entrepreneurial Store Manager to lead one of our busy local stores.

As Store Manager, you’ll run your store like it’s your own business: serving your local community, developing your team, driving performance, and making your store the best place to work and shop.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Business Growth: Treat the store as your own business. Find innovative ways to boost sales, enhance product offerings, and manage costs effectively.
Exceptional Customer Experience: Lead from the front to deliver high-quality service aligned with the trusted Morrisons brand promise.
Team Leadership & Development: Champion an inclusive workplace culture. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing career progression for your team.
Operational Excellence: Maintain top-tier store standards, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and operational guidelines.
Community Engagement: Build genuine relationships with local residents and ensure your store serves as a helpful hub for the neighborhood.

What We’re Looking For

While experience in retail, convenience, or hospitality is helpful, we prioritise leadership capability over a specific checklist. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

A Passion for People: Proven ability to coach, inspire, and develop team members to reach their full potential.
A Hands-On Leadership Style: A willingness to work alongside your team on the shop floor to hit daily targets.
Resilience & Problem-Solving Skills: The drive to tackle daily challenges head-on in a fast-paced environment.
Strong Influence: The confidence to pitch fresh ideas and encourage new ways of working.

Note: If your store includes Post Office services, appointment is subject to a mandatory P250 financial background check.

Why Join Us? (Perks & Benefits)

Competitive & Flexible Salary: Discussed early in the application process to align directly with your experience.
Generous Staff Discount: 15% off across convenience, supermarket, and online purchases.
Paid Time Off: 28 days of annual leave.
Health & Wellbeing: Free access to Vita Health and Aviva Digital GP services.
Perk Portal ('My Morri'): Exclusive savings, instant discounts, and cashback on dining, leisure, and shopping.
Pension Scheme: Contributory company pension plan.

About Morrisons Daily

Since acquiring McColl’s in 2022, Morrisons Daily has expanded to over 1,700 nationwide stores across our company-owned and franchise network. We combine local convenience with trusted supermarket value - offering essential products right where our customers need them most.

What Happens Next?

We value diversity and encourage you to apply even if you don't tick every single box!

Online Application: Submit your CV/application online.
Screening Call: An informal introductory chat with a recruiter to discuss your background.
Interview: A formal interview with the Area Manager.

If you need reasonable adjustments during the hiring process, please email georgia.bullimore@morrisonsplc.co.uk.
