Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid) | Type: Contract | Level: Senior
Technical Expert, Structures & Systems Design Integration
Montreal, QC | Contract | Hybrid, 3 days onsite (flexible)
About the role
A major Montreal aerospace manufacturer is looking for a senior engineer to be the go-to integrator for aircraft structures and systems across the full airframe. You’d be the person who makes sure structures, systems and installations all fit together, from early layouts and trade studies right through to certification and the shop floor. It’s a technical authority role: you lead the integration work, influence across teams and mentor the people coming up behind you.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading conceptual layouts and integration solutions for structures and systems across the complete airframe
- Defining and managing interfaces, installation requirements and system architecture
- Running trade studies on weight, cost, performance and manufacturability
- Acting as the focal point between stress, systems, interiors, aero, thermo, mass properties, manufacturing and quality
- Building preliminary and detailed design concepts in 3D and supporting production and shop floor issues
- Supporting V&V, certification strategy and compliance demonstration
- Managing engineering changes through configuration control, and keeping PLM data clean in ENOVIA/Teamcenter
What you bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- 15+ years in aerospace engineering
- Strong background in aircraft structures and/or systems installation and integration
- Several years hands-on in CATIA V5 and ENOVIA (NX and Teamcenter are a plus)
- Solid DFM/DFA, GD&T, materials and processes, and weight control
- Working knowledge of CAR/FAR/CS certification requirements
- Fluent French and English (both are mandatory)
Who does well here
You’re comfortable being the person everyone comes to when things don’t fit. You can lead integration across a lot of stakeholders without needing them to report to you, and you stay steady on complex, high-pressure programs.
The details
- Montreal, 3 days a week onsite (open to discussion)
- Contract
- Bilingual FR/EN required
