Original job description

Step in and lead heavy civil crews on the projects shaping Eastern Ontario's infrastructure
Earn a competitive salary of $75,000-$110,000, plus performance bonuses, relocation assistance, and comprehensive benefits
Join a family-owned company with decades of history, working alongside crews and clients who've stuck around for the long haul

About Morven Construction

Morven Construction has spent decades becoming a fixture of Eastern Ontario's building industry, still run today as the family business it started as. What began with sewer and water main work has grown into heavy civil development, restoration, and the design of parks and recreational complexes, with a name attached to some of the region's most recognized public projects. That range calls for more than boots on the ground: planning, problem-solving, and coordination across every stage of a build all matter as much as the work on site, especially on the demanding, technically complicated jobs Morven has built its reputation on.

Clients stay with Morven for years, and so do a lot of the people who build for them, drawn to a company that plans carefully but still moves with the openness of a family shop. For anyone who wants serious civil work and a real say in how a project comes together, Morven offers a place to build a lasting career on projects that matter.

About the Opportunity

Morven Construction is looking for a full-time Site Supervisor based in Greater Napanee, ON.

Reporting to the project management team, you will play a pivotal role in keeping crews, schedules, and sub-trades aligned to bring heavy civil projects in on time and within budget. You will be primarily responsible for supervising crews on-site, coordinating daily activities, and maintaining the documentation, safety standards, and quality control that keep a project on track from start to finish.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Organizing and coordinating site activities, crews, and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budget
Supervising crews and subcontractors with a hands-on approach and directing workers on daily tasks
Planning, scheduling, and maintaining project timelines while adapting and reprioritizing as needs change
Orienting, training, assigning, and coaching employees
Communicating and coordinating with engineers, coordinators, project managers, superintendents, surveyors, sub-trades, and other management
Leading health, safety, and environmental protection on site, including tailgate meetings, hazard identification and controls, PPE compliance, and inspections
Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
Inspecting work in progress to ensure it conforms to plans and specifications
Supporting the maintenance of accurate as-built drawings
Problem solving site issues to minimize construction delays and claims
Attending and participating in on-site meetings
Preparing daily reports and work sheets that record quantities, progress, events, and inspections, and completing all required documentation

About You

To qualify, you will need a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction, and a current G license and insurable driving abstract.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

Post-secondary diploma in construction
Solid computer skills and a strong grasp of construction materials and systems, particularly earth moving, grading, excavation, sewer, and watermain construction
Comfortable reading and interpreting work drawings
Experience with survey equipment and performing layout
Experience operating heavy equipment
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
Experience with confined space entries and traffic control

As our ideal candidate, you will possess strong leadership, communication, and time management skills, along with a hands-on approach and the ability to coordinate confidently with subcontractors, suppliers, and owners. You'll also bring the kind of organization and follow-through that keeps paperwork and progress moving together, as well as a genuine ability to mentor and get the best out of a crew.

This is an opportunity for an experienced site leader to step into a well-established team and take real ownership of the projects in front of them, working alongside people who've spent decades building Eastern Ontario's infrastructure and are looking for someone ready to carry that standard forward.

Compensation based on skills and experience, is a competitive annual salary of $75,000 – $110,000, and a host of excellent benefits including:
