About the Opportunity

Morven Construction is looking for a full-time Site Supervisor based in Greater Napanee, ON.

Reporting to the project management team, you will play a pivotal role in keeping crews, schedules, and sub-trades aligned to bring heavy civil projects in on time and within budget. You will be primarily responsible for supervising crews on-site, coordinating daily activities, and maintaining the documentation, safety standards, and quality control that keep a project on track from start to finish.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Organizing and coordinating site activities, crews, and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budget
Supervising crews and subcontractors with a hands-on approach and directing workers on daily tasks
Planning, scheduling, and maintaining project timelines while adapting and reprioritizing as needs change
Orienting, training, assigning, and coaching employees
Communicating and coordinating with engineers, coordinators, project managers, superintendents, surveyors, sub-trades, and other management
Leading health, safety, and environmental protection on site, including tailgate meetings, hazard identification and controls, PPE compliance, and inspections
Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
Inspecting work in progress to ensure it conforms to plans and specifications
Supporting the maintenance of accurate as-built drawings
Problem solving site issues to minimize construction delays and claims
Attending and participating in on-site meetings
Preparing daily reports and work sheets that record quantities, progress, events, and inspections, and completing all required documentation

About You

To qualify, you will need a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction, and a current G license and insurable driving abstract.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

Post-secondary diploma in construction
Solid computer skills and a strong grasp of construction materials and systems, particularly earth moving, grading, excavation, sewer, and watermain construction
Comfortable reading and interpreting work drawings
Experience with survey equipment and performing layout
Experience operating heavy equipment
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
Experience with confined space entries and traffic control
