Role Description

Mosaic Mobility Group is seeking a Transportation Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our team.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with 3–5 years of transportation engineering experience; however, we are also open to a strong new graduate with relevant co-op experience, a solid technical foundation and a genuine interest in transportation.

The successful candidate will work on a variety of transportation planning and traffic engineering assignments for municipal and private-sector clients. Responsibilities may include:

  • Transportation Impact / Assessment Studies
  • Traffic operations and intersection capacity analysis
  • Synchro/SimTraffic modelling
  • Traffic forecasting and analysis of traffic count data
  • Parking demand and parking justification studies
  • Traffic safety and collision analysis
  • Access management and site circulation reviews
  • Traffic signal and warrant analyses
  • Active transportation, transit and multimodal transportation assessments
  • Field investigations and site reviews

  • Preparation of technical reports, figures, tables and presentations
  • Attendance and participation in client and team meetings
  • Working toward independent project management with senior support
  • Supporting senior engineers with project analysis, recommendations and client deliverables
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred, although strong new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario, or eligible for registration.
  • Experience with transportation planning, traffic engineering or traffic operations analysis
  • Experience with Synchro or Arcady is an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in active transportation, transit and multimodal transportation solutions
  • Previous transportation consulting, municipal, co-op or internship experience is an asset
Location and Work Environment

Mosaic Mobility Group is based in Kitchener, Ontario. We value regular collaboration and interaction among team members while recognizing that some work can be completed remotely. Flexible working arrangements may be considered depending on the candidate's experience and the needs of the position.

Why Mosaic?

This is an opportunity to join a growing transportation consulting firm at an early stage and work directly with experienced senior engineers. The successful candidate will have opportunities for mentorship, increasing responsibility, client exposure and professional development while contributing to meaningful transportation projects across Ontario.

At Mosaic, we support our staff’s path to engineering licensure and both engagement and membership in professional organizations including ITE, OTC, TAC, and WTS. We support ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who is curious, motivated, willing to learn and genuinely interested in transportation engineering. Candidates do not need to check every box to apply. Attitude, initiative and a willingness to learn matter to us. Technical skills can be taught; curiosity, enthusiasm and a desire to do good work are what we are really looking for.
