The role:
As a People Operations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing solutions that shape our organizational culture, optimize processes, implement programs, and establish best practices. Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, your primary focus will be to ensure compliance with internal policies and Federal/Provincial laws. You'll also be responsible for managing and supporting a range of employee programs, including performance management, compensation, health & safety, and recognition.

How you will spend your days:
- Support High-Performing Teams: Collaborate with People Business Partners to develop and deliver people programs, training, and reporting that enhance team leadership and development, fostering high-performing teams in the field.
- Strategic Initiatives: Analyze and consolidate data, summarize results and key trends, and prepare reports and presentations to drive forward local and corporate strategic objectives.
- Total Rewards Management: Design and maintain base pay structures, participate in large compensation surveys, and manage merit/review cycles. Oversee and evaluate store and corporate bonus programs, structures, benefits, and PTO programs.
- Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA): Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Motion's IDEA program.
- Compliance: Review and maintain regulatory compliance with employment law, policies, and legislation.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and streamline HR programs and systems, including Motion's HRIS system (ADP WorkforceNow).
- Tier 1 Support: Provide support via FreshDesk, including raising awareness, promoting, and assisting with the implementation of core HR programs and policies.
What you bring:
- Experience. Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive HR experience in a multi-site organization in a similar role. Demonstrated ability to manage large projects, timelines, and plans.
- Toolkit. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Experience using an HRIS, with knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow being an asset.
- Education. Post-secondary education in business management, Human Resources, or relevant experience. CHRP designation is considered an asset.
- Interpersonal skills. Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work on cross functional teams and multi-channel organizations. You have excellent communication skills for interactions across all levels. A self-starter with the ability to take an initiative from concept through to implementation successfully.
- Additional must-have requirements. You have a clean criminal background check and are bondable. Possession of a valid driver's license with the ability to travel to various sites or event locations (approximately 5-10%).
