Original job description

Consider joining us as a Purchasing & Process Coordinator if:

You thrive on organization, catch the details others miss, and enjoy helping people work more effectively. You bring a process-oriented mindset, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to ensuring purchasing, inventory, and order management run smoothly across multiple locations. This is a hybrid role, offering a combination of in-office and remote work.

About Motion:

Canadian-owned and operated, Motion is Canada’s leading full-service mobility and accessibility solutions provider and has served communities across Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan for more than 40 years through our network of 48 locations. Our knowledgeable and caring team of experts supports individuals and those who care for them by delivering solutions that make life accessible for everyone. Our products include wheelchairs, walkers, mobility scooters, power lift recliners, lifting devices, homecare and adjustable beds, bathroom safety items, and more. Whether our clients are 1 or 100, we have products to ensure the independence, mobility, and safety of clients of all ages.

The role:

As a Purchasing & Process Coordinator, you will support our locations with purchasing, inventory, and order management. You will ensure accurate data, timely purchase orders, and consistent processes across our locations. Working closely with location teams, suppliers, and Finance, you will troubleshoot discrepancies, provide guidance on purchasing procedures, and identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve efficiency. Your work will help ensure the right equipment gets where it needs to go, when it needs to be there.

What’s in it for you:

Growth opportunity. This is a chance to gain deep and practical insights into our industry, be involved in every aspect of what we do, and take ownership for your own success. You will learn the functionality and benefits of our products and services, and work in partnership with healthcare providers, clients, and your colleagues to ensure an exceptional client experience.

Impact. Every day provides a new opportunity to create a tangible impact on the lives of our clients. At Motion, you will find deep professional satisfaction knowing that your work matters to people in your community and beyond.

Professional development and networking. At Motion, we nurture a continuous learning and skills development environment. You will have:

Access to our internal Learning Portal, where we have a vast library of training on our products and processes and professional development topics.
The opportunity to work with industry leaders who will guide you on your journey and ensure you have the tools you need to succeed.

How you will spend your days:

Purchasing and order management. Prepare, enter, and track purchase orders using an ERP system. Review requests for completeness and accuracy and ensure orders are processed on time.
Data accuracy. Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, pricing, and shipping information. Research and correct discrepancies in pricing, orders, invoices, and system data.
Location support. Help location teams understand and follow purchasing and inventory processes. Provide clear guidance on established procedures and support consistent practices across locations.
Process improvement. Identify and address process errors or non-compliance, help prevent recurring issues, and find opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize costs.
Collaboration and issue resolution. Work with locations, suppliers, and Finance to resolve purchasing and invoice issues. Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure timely resolution while maintaining positive relationships and adherence to established processes.

What you bring:

Experience. At least one year of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, retail, healthcare, or a related environment.
Toolkit. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience using an ERP system is considered an asset.
Education. Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
Attention to detail. You prioritize data accuracy, identify discrepancies, and take a thorough approach to reviewing orders and maintaining records.
Organization and process management. You have excellent organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage priorities and follow established procedures consistently.
Interpersonal skills. You communicate clearly, build positive working relationships, and confidently work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What we offer:

At Motion, we are proud to provide our employees with the following competitive benefits and rewards package. We offer:

Fair and attractive compensation with a salary range from $40,000 - $56,000 annually. The precise remuneration can differ depending on skills, experience, and geographic location
Eligibility to a comprehensive benefits package
