Original job description

You'll be a great fit for our team if…

You have worked in a warehouse or janitorial environment before, responding to competing demands and prioritizing tasks. Maybe you have experience in picking or putting away product and are familiar with keeping track of inventory or you’ve spent time cleaning equipment and work spaces. You thrive in an environment where work is varied and there is a mix of physical demands and administrative tasks. You enjoy having ownership over your work environment and are keen to maintain an efficient, well-organized and safe warehouse space. You have high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to jump in and help the team wherever needed.

About Motion

Canadian-owned and operated, Motion is Canada’s leading full-service mobility and accessibility solutions provider and has served communities across Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan for more than 40 years through our network of 48 locations. Our knowledgeable and caring team of experts supports individuals and those who care for them by delivering solutions that make life accessible for everyone. Our products include wheelchairs, walkers, mobility scooters, power lift recliners, lifting devices, homecare and adjustable beds, bathroom safety items, and more. Whether our clients are 1 or 100, we have products to ensure the independence, mobility, and safety of clients of all ages.

The role

We are adding a Cleaner/Warehouse Associate to our team in Toronto, ON. This posting is for an existing vacancy. You will drive warehouse efficiency and process improvement and collaborate with colleagues in all departments. This role will specifically help the inventory team by cleaning and sanitizing wheelchairs and other mobility equipment as they return to the building, restocking items into the warehouse, and supporting the team with other duties as required. As a Warehouse Associate (Cleaner), you will play a key role in ensuring continued flow of business through the location. This is a full-time position, working a regular Monday to Friday schedule alongside a strong team of Builders, Pickers, Service Technicians, and Administrators.

What’s in it for you

Impact. Every day at Motion provides a new opportunity to create a tangible impact on the lives of our clients. You will find deep professional satisfaction knowing that your work matters to Canadians in your community and beyond.

Professional development and networking. At Motion, we nurture a continuous learning and skills development environment. You will have:

Access to our internal Learning Portal, where we have a vast library of training with over 140 courses on our products and processes and professional development topics.
The opportunity to work with industry leaders who will guide you on your journey and ensure you have the tools you need to succeed and grow in the business.
The chance to attend industry events, including Motion’s own Rehab Expos, where you can network with vendors, occupational therapists, and your peers.

How you will spend your days:

Cleaning. You will use non-toxic, environmentally friendly cleaning and sanitizing agents to ensure the safety of the equipment our clients and staff use.
Restocking. You will restock equipment in the warehouse according to use and device and assist the picking team with maintaining stock levels
Order Processing. You will liaise with the Service and Sales Coordinators to ensure accuracy of order details and ensure items are staged correctly for delivery.
Process Mobility Devices and Equipment. You will act as the gatekeeper for all our inventory and physical assets stored in the warehouse, ensuring proper storage, cleaning, and packing as items enter or exit the dock. You will store, organize, and manage our inventory.
Engaged Team Member. You will assist your team whenever needed. Whether that means interacting with a customer or helping other team members, you are ready, willing and able to move into the next task that needs your attention.

What you bring to the role:

Experience. You have a minimum 1 year of relevant experience in an inventory handling or a general warehouse role. You are comfortable using computers, can learn new systems and databases, and have a moderate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication skills. You can clearly and concisely communicate in person, over the phone or on paper. You can provide outstanding customer service to any visitors or vendors who may be entering the warehouse.
Analytical skills. You are a strong problem solver with the ability to identify gaps and implement strategies for improvement.
Flexibility. You are able to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects simultaneously. You are a true team player but can also work on your own with little supervision.
Additional must-have requirements: you are able to lift up to 50lbs, have a clean criminal background check, and are bondable.
