Original job description

Events Coordinator

motionball is a national non-profit that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics through integrated social and sporting events. Our purpose is to create a sustainable funding model and base of supporters for the Special Olympics movement. At the same time, we’re providing more people with the tools to pursue their passions and make a difference in their own communities, and putting the fun back into giving. motionball now proudly hosts 50+ annual events in 20 Canadian cities and 30+ university campuses.

More than just a charity, motionball ignites a flame in everyone who works, volunteers, and participates with us from coast to coast. Our team is energetic, passionate, and we never miss an opportunity to celebrate our wins – big or small. The vibes from our events extend into our national office, providing both a rewarding and fun work experience with the ability to travel across Canada and meet new people.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist in the execution of the Annual General Meeting
Provide support to motionball’s annual #NoGoodWay anti-bullying campaign
Provide support to all 3rd party events and fundraising initiatives, and ensure motionball guidelines are followed accordingly

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

A College or University degree in Marketing, Events, or a related field
Relevant experience in a similar role in a non-profit or events setting
Ability to think creatively and outside of the box to elevate brand awareness through event support
Strong relationship building and communications skills with a drive to win as a team
Proficiency in Canva, Google Suite and with CRM systems
Must be able to multitask to support multiple projects simultaneously
Willingness to travel to Canadian cities and work evenings and weekends, as projects and events demand it
Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.

This position is a hybrid model with all staff in office twice a week and working from home for the remaining 3 days. This is subject to change throughout the year based on the event season.

This position is a one-year contract with the opportunity to renew into a permanent role.

Interested candidates are asked to submit a cover letter and current resume online by November 20th. We thank all applicants and will contact only those selected for an interview; please note this position may be filled prior to the application deadline if a suitable candidate has been identified.
