This position is based in Vancouver, BC, and the candidate must reside in the Greater Vancouver area, as you will be required to go into the office on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Localized Domain Strategy: Define and drive the short-to-medium term software product strategy for media ingest, playback, streaming pipelines, and device connection services.
  • Telemetry & Field Intelligence: Synthesize customer workflow feedback, application telemetry, and software partner requirements to identify core platform friction points and opportunities.
  • Product Success Metrics: Define, monitor, and optimize software feature adoption, stream latency/performance metrics, and system usability KPIs.
  • Embedded Scrum Leadership: Partner closely with 2 cross-functional software engineering teams as the primary day-to-day product partner, driving backlog grooming, sprint commitments, and acceptance criteria.
  • Software Requirements & Specs: Translate complex media and device capabilities into precise user stories and technical specifications.
  • Quality & Performance Accountability: Own non-functional requirements (NFRs) including media playback reliability, system scalability, API stability, and software defect prioritization alongside feature development.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years in Software Product Management or Technical Product Management delivering enterprise software, SaaS, or complex platform applications.
  • Domain Knowledge: Solid technical understanding of video software concepts, media streaming protocols (e.g., RTSP, WebRTC, H.264/H.265, WebSockets), REST APIs, or software-based device integration frameworks.
  • Agile Leadership: Proven track record running Agile execution directly with software engineering teams (preferably across multiple software squads simultaneously).
  • Data & Quality Focus: Strong experience defining software KPIs, analyzing telemetry/usage data, and balancing tech debt and bug fixes against new feature requests.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical software industry experience.
