Investors trust MSCI to help them make better decisions. Our indexes, analytics, and private capital tools help asset owners understand risk, build portfolios, and allocate capital across public and private markets.
We are looking for a Sales Specialist to grow our Analytics and Private Capital Solutions (PCS) business with Canadian asset owners. This includes public and corporate pension plans, endowments, foundations, and single-family offices.
This role gives you direct access to some of the most sophisticated investment players in Canada. You will help position MSCI at the core of how they govern risk and allocate capital, with a particular focus on their expanding allocation to private assets.
You will work with senior decision makers, including C-suite leaders, from the first meeting to the signed contract. You will run product demonstrations, answer detailed questions about our products and methodologies, and help shape the solutions our clients need. You will draw on your knowledge of institutional investment themes, processes, regulation, and contacts to find and close opportunities in your territory. You will also use the well-established recognition of the MSCI brand to open doors and find opportunities in your territory, and to deepen our work with Canadian asset owners.
You will also work closely with Client Service, Client Consultants, Marketing, Product Management, Research and Development, Finance, and Legal. You will learn about our products and help shape how we serve this segment.
This is a chance to build your visibility and your career. You will develop deep expertise in institutional investing and private markets. You will build a network of senior contacts across the country.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Build a territory plan that increases revenue for our Analytics and PCS products
- Build and manage lasting relationships with senior executives, including the C-suite, at Canadian asset owners
- Find and close opportunities through careful account planning
- Deliver on revenue targets in your territory
- Answer detailed client questions about our products and methodologies
- Coordinate with Client Service, Legal, Contracts, and Billing so every client request is handled well
- Ask clients for feedback on new initiatives and future products
- Bring client insights to Marketing, Sales, Research, and Product Development, and help shape what we build next
- Represent MSCI at leading industry events
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
- Strong sales and relationship building skills, combined with analytical skills
- Experience with major financial institutions, especially institutional investors
- A solid understanding of capital markets and how investment managers make decisions, including knowledge of Portfolio Management and/or Risk Management and private markets
- Initiative, a drive to excel both on your own and as part of a team across departments, and comfort with intellectual and analytical challenges
- At least 3 years of sales experience and at least 3 years in financial services
- Bachelor's Degree is required; an MBA or Master’s Degree is nice to have.
- Excellence in spoken and written English required, French is an asset
- Experience in Portfolio Management and/or Risk Management is a plus
