Millwright – Day Shift
Monday to Friday

Location:  Hamilton, ON    

The Opportunity: MT Talent Solutions Inc. is proud to partner with our client, a global leading chemical manufacturer with a 150 year history, to add their next Maintenance Millwright to their maintenance team!

Here’s what you’ll do in the role:

  • Perform maintenance activity on plant equipment including pumps, valves, exchangers, loading arms etc.
  • Operating hoisting and lifting devices as necessary during the repair and installation of machinery
  • Working independently and with others to solve mechanical and technical problems
  • Working accurately with numbers, and on occasion doing basic drawings of machine parts
  • Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Using welding equipment, hand and power tools as necessary
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance work
  • Observing safety in accordance with government and company standards
  • Writing maintenance reports

Here's what you bring to the role:

  • Valid 433A license
  • Gas license is preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Millwright in a manufacturing setting. Chemical, mining, steel, aggregates or other heavy industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience operating machine shop equipment, drill press, lathe, milling machine, precision instruments is an asset.
  • Working at Heights certification is preferred. Ability to work at heights, operate forklift and zoom boom are preferred.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions year round – approximately 80-90% of work is outdoors.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and hardworking attitude
  • Computer proficient - experience with CMMS and MS Office. Experience with SAP is a bonus.
  • Desire to hold a role long-term with a stable, global entity

Responsibilities

Maintain, repair, and install plant equipment such as pumps, valves, exchangers, and loading arms, including scheduled preventive maintenance and routine cleaning and lubrication. Troubleshoot mechanical issues, use lifting devices and tools as needed, follow safety standards, and prepare maintenance reports.

Requirements

Requires a valid 433A license and at least five years of millwright experience in manufacturing; experience in heavy industry is preferred, and a gas license is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, communicate well, use computers and maintenance systems, and ideally have experience with machine shop equipment, working at heights, forklifts, and zoom booms.
