Multivista Alberta is the locally owned and operated Multivista franchise for the province. This role anchors our Edmonton office and is the primary field presence for our Northern Alberta projects.
Who We Seek
- An organized, self-directed individual looking for a rewarding career as a reality capture specialist.
- Someone with an entry-level background in construction, surveying, or a related trade who has the technical aptitude to learn our specialized visual capture and laser scanning services.
- Someone who puts customer service and professionalism at the forefront - you will often be the only Multivista representative the client sees.
- No previous photography or laser scanning experience is required. All training is provided.
What You Will Do
Visual capture
- Proficiently use, and be willing to be trained on, our reality capture technologies - digital photography, streaming webcams, video cameras, 360° cameras, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) - to visually document construction progress across Edmonton and Northern Alberta.
- Read and organize construction floor plans, and accurately locate every capture against them.
- Navigate active construction sites safely while producing steady, high-quality, inspection-grade imagery.
3D laser scanning and registration
- Operate a Leica RTC360 terrestrial laser scanner to capture interior and exterior conditions, including scan planning, station placement, and target setup.
- Register point clouds in Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360, verify registration accuracy, and clean, unify, and export data (e.g., LGS, E57, RCP) for client and downstream use.
- Perform field QA on scan coverage and overlap before demobilizing, and manage secure transfer, backup and archiving of scan data.
- Prior experience with terrestrial laser scanning or point-cloud registration is a strong asset; full training on the RTC360 and Cyclone workflow is provided.
Project and quality management
- Set up and manage projects, upload media and enter data across tablets, laptops, desktops and smartphones using Multivista’s platform and Microsoft Office.
- Consistently adhere to standard operating policies and procedures, and perform regular quality assurance checks as part of the daily workflow.
- Proactively communicate with construction project personnel, and listen for opportunities to provide additional documentation services to the client.
- Always maintain a professional appearance on site as a representative of Multivista.
The Must-Have List
- You currently reside in the greater Edmonton area.
- You have a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence (non-GDL), a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- You are willing and able to travel: regular day trips throughout Northern Alberta and occasional overnight travel (e.g., Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Cold Lake, and industrial sites in the region). Travel expenses are covered.
- You must pass a pre-employment background check and be able to pass drug and alcohol testing as required for industrial and oil-and-gas site access.
- You hold, or are willing to obtain before start, a valid CSTS-2020 (Construction Safety Training System) certificate. Additional site-specific safety tickets (e.g., Energy Safety Canada BSO, fall protection, H2S Alive) are an asset and will be provided as required.
- You have the required vaccinations to visit hospital and healthcare projects, or are willing to receive them.
- A Transport Canada RPAS (drone) pilot certificate - Basic or Advanced - is an asset.
- You are a self-motivated and dependable team player who is comfortable speaking with clients in a construction trailer.
- You can confidently operate a computer, tablet and smartphone, have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and can learn new software platforms (including Cyclone REGISTER 360) quickly.
- You understand that construction site visits will make up the largest part of your day, and that outdoor weather - including Alberta winters - as well as dust, noise and other conditions expected on a construction site are common and should be anticipated.
- You will comply with all jobsite safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment.
- You can lift and carry up to 35 lb (16 kg) of camera and scanning equipment, occasionally up and down stairs, ladders and scaffolding.
You enjoy collaborating with a tight-knit support team and are equally comfortable working independently for extended periods.
