Financial Controller
MHG has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and strategic financial leader to join our Finance Team as Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is a key member of the Head Office team and plays a central role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information across the organization. The Financial Controller supports this mission by providing the financial leadership, discipline, and insight that enable our teams to thrive.
As Financial Controller, You Will
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing financial policies and procedures
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements for required divisions
- Prepare year-end files and provide information to external auditors
- Prepare budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data and make recommendations and plans
- Provide financial status and analysis by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
- Manage finance team, specifically Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team members
- Coordinates tax filings and ensure adherence to local and federal regulations

What You Bring
- Must possess at least 5 year’s accounting & financial experience
- Previous experience in the Hospitality Industry considered an asset (Restaurants, Hotels and Events)
- A bachelor’s degree and CPA designation preferred
- Demonstrated working experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with financial systems including Oracle NetSuite, and various Point of Sale (POS) and Property Management Systems (PMS) considered an asset
