Position Overview

MWS Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Fitter-Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our team in Kitchener.

This position requires a minimum of 3–4 years of hands-on experience in BOTH metal fitting and welding. The role involves approximately 50% fitting and fabrication and 50% welding.

The successful candidate must be capable of reading fabrication drawings, fitting and assembling metal components, and performing quality welds. Experience with structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication, including handrails, staircases, platforms, and catwalks, is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Measure, cut, prepare, fit, and assemble metal components.
• Fabricate structural steel and miscellaneous metal products.
• Perform welding using GMAW (MIG), MCAW, FCAW (Flux Core), and GTAW (TIG) processes.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
• Follow company safety procedures and meet project deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3–4 years of professional, hands-on fitting and welding experience.
• Proven ability to independently perform BOTH metal fitting/fabrication and welding.
• Practical experience with GMAW, MCAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Experience with structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certifications or relevant trade qualifications.
• Welding or metal fabrication apprenticeship experience.
• Previous experience in an industrial fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3–4 years of practical experience in BOTH fitting and welding. Welding-only experience does not meet the requirements of this position.
