Original job description

About Myant:

Myant is building the technologies that connect people, machines and intelligence through advanced textile computing, materials science, AI and connected health technologies.

Within the Myant ecosystem, Myant Health is focused on transforming healthcare through the Internet of Humans: connecting people, AI and machines through intelligent textile-based interfaces and continuous health measurement. Our SKIIN™ technology transforms everyday clothing into a sophisticated health interface capable of capturing meaningful, clinical-grade health information, while HumanOS provides the platform for bringing together data from textile sensors, medical devices, wearables and other connected technologies to create a more continuous view of human health.

Myant Health is currently focused on objective measurement and accessible diagnostic solutions across areas including cardiovascular health, sleep, hypertension, diabetes and musculoskeletal health. Our work includes solutions such as 14-day cardiac monitoring, home sleep apnea testing and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, with a broader vision of creating continuous diagnostic and, ultimately, therapeutic interfaces that can become part of everyday life.

The technology and innovation behind these products are supported by a broader Myant R&D environment spanning textile computing, advanced materials, electronics, software, AI, biometrics, chemical processing and manufacturing technologies.

This includes MyantX, our advanced research and innovation organization, which builds on a strong history of industrial research and applied technology development. MyantX operates at the intersection of materials, manufacturing, electronics, sensing and emerging technologies, helping translate advanced research into practical technologies and commercial applications.

Together, Myant, Myant Health and MyantX operate within a highly multidisciplinary environment that brings together research laboratories, advanced materials and chemical processing, engineering, textile and electronics development, controlled manufacturing environments and medical-device development and manufacturing. This creates a unique environment for professionals who want to work at the intersection of advanced technology, research, manufacturing, quality, safety and regulated healthcare.

At Myant, you will have the opportunity to work alongside scientists, engineers, researchers, manufacturing specialists, healthcare professionals and technology teams to help build technologies that move from fundamental research and experimentation through development and ultimately toward real-world applications.

We are not simply developing individual products. We are building an interconnected technology ecosystem, from advanced research and materials through textile computing, intelligent sensing and connected health, with the potential to change how people interact with technology and manage their health.

Role Overview:

We're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Web Developer to own Myant's public-facing web presence (company and product websites, landing pages, SEO, analytics) and to contribute to our core connected-health platform, including the clinician and patient web applications. You'll work across the frontend (React/Next.js, TypeScript) and, depending on your background, the backend on AWS (Node.js, Python or Java).

Our Tech Stack:

Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML/CSS
Backend: AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB) with Node.js, Python and Java services
Tooling: GitHub, GitHub Actions CI/CD, Terraform

Key Responsibilities:

Public Web Properties

Own the company and product websites end-to-end: CMS, hosting, CDN, domains, and uptime.
Drive technical SEO and Core Web Vitals for all public-facing sites.
Ensure public sites meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility (AODA) and privacy/cookie-consent requirements (PIPEDA, GDPR).

Core Product

Develop and maintain responsive, high-performance web applications using React.
Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend developers to implement intuitive and scalable user interfaces.
Optimize applications for speed and scalability, maintaining Core Web Vitals / Lighthouse targets and monitoring performance in production.
Ensure code quality through best practices, code reviews, testing, and clean, well-documented code.
Drive technical decisions for the web stack (frameworks, CMS, hosting, tooling) and mentor other developers.
Integrate with backend services and APIs to deliver a seamless experience.
Work within our regulated medical-device software development lifecycle (IEC 62304), including documentation, traceability and test evidence.

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of professional web development experience, including 3+ years with React and TypeScript.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Hands-on experience with Next.js (server-side rendering and static site generation).
Solid responsive, cross-browser development and web accessibility (WCAG) skills.
Working knowledge of technical SEO fundamentals.
Experience with state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, React Query).
Experience integrating with RESTful APIs; GraphQL is a plus.
Proficiency in building reusable UI components and design systems.
Experience with frontend testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, etc.).
Strong understanding of performance optimization techniques.
Experience with version control (Git, GitHub).
Experience deploying and hosting websites (CDN, DNS, SSL).
Clear written and verbal communication with non-technical stakeholders (marketing, product).
Proven hands-on skill with AI-driven development: working with coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor), authoring agent skills and custom instructions, and connecting tools and data through MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, while critically reviewing and validating AI-generated code.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Familiarity with modern build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, etc.).
Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
Backend experience with at least one of Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Java.
AWS experience (Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, Cognito).
Experience in healthcare or regulated software (IEC 62304, HIPAA/PHIPA).
Working from Figma designs and design systems.
