Cloud Platform Engineer – Kubernetes
Location: Toronto, ON
Position Overview
Myticas Consulting is seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer – Kubernetes to support enterprise cloud infrastructure, container platforms, and application engineering teams.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring advanced Kubernetes troubleshooting and platform engineering expertise, combined with strong skills in Terraform, Python, GitHub, and cloud networking.
The successful candidate must be able to independently investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex Kubernetes issues - not simply deploy or administer containerized applications.

A senior-level, hands-on Kubernetes / Cloud Platform Engineer who can independently resolve challenging Kubernetes infrastructure and workload issues.
The ideal candidate combines deep Kubernetes troubleshooting expertise with practical Terraform, Python, GitHub, and cloud networking experience. This is a platform engineering role rather than a position focused primarily on application deployment or basic Kubernetes administration.
Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Key Responsibilities
- Engineer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Kubernetes clusters, containerized workloads, and cloud platform services.
- Perform advanced Kubernetes troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and incident resolution.
- Support application teams with Kubernetes deployments, platform connectivity, and operational issues.
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code / IaC).
- Develop automation scripts and platform tooling using Python.
- Work with GitHub repositories, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot cloud networking, connectivity, and infrastructure dependencies affecting Kubernetes environments.
- Collaborate directly with engineering teams, application owners, and client stakeholders.
- Improve platform reliability, operational efficiency, and reusable cloud infrastructure components.
- Advanced, hands-on Kubernetes experience, including complex cluster, workload, and platform troubleshooting.
- Strong cloud platform engineering experience supporting enterprise environments.
- Terraform experience for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and automation.
- Python scripting and automation experience.
- GitHub experience for source control and collaborative development.
- Cloud networking knowledge, including connectivity and infrastructure dependencies.
- Strong root cause analysis and independent problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with technical teams and client stakeholders.
- Go / Golang programming.
- GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation.
- Experience with managed database services.
- Cloud security, Key Vault, and customer-managed encryption keys (CMK).
- Development of reusable enterprise cloud platform components.
- Experience in large-scale or regulated enterprise environments.
