What They Are Looking For
This role is best suited to someone who is more than a narrow technical specialist.
The client is looking for someone who can understand a customer environment, identify the appropriate solution, build a plan, coordinate the necessary resources and then step in technically when needed.
Strong communication is critical. The successful candidate must be comfortable explaining technical decisions and project status to both technical teams and non-technical business leaders.
They are particularly interested in people who are naturally curious about technology, security threats and new infrastructure solutions and who actively develop their skills beyond day-to-day assigned tasks.
Schedule / Project Expectations
Most project planning, design, scoping and client communication occurs during regular business hours.
Some infrastructure migrations, implementations and cutovers will take place during evenings or weekends to minimize client disruption.
As part of a managed services environment, senior technical staff may also occasionally assist with major client incidents outside normal business hours.
