The Opportunity
We are seeking a
Senior Technical Consultant / Software Engineer III (Team Lead) to lead the technical delivery of complex enterprise SaaS implementations within the
banking and financial technology sector.
This is a
hands-on senior technical leadership role combining software engineering, solution design, product configuration, APIs and integrations, data, deployment, troubleshooting, client-facing consulting, and team mentorship.
The successful candidate will own technical delivery for complex modules, client workstreams, implementation areas, or engineering squads. You will translate complex business and banking requirements into scalable technical solutions, guide junior and intermediate engineers and consultants, lead technical design and troubleshooting, and ensure solutions meet high standards for
quality, scalability, security, maintainability, auditability, and operational supportability.
You will also lead the deployment of assigned products, modules, configurations, integrations, and technical components across
development, QA, integration, UAT, staging, and other lower environments.
This role requires someone who can remain
deeply hands-on technically while also leading people, technical decisions, client discussions, and delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end technical delivery for complex modules, client workstreams, implementation areas, or engineering squads.
- Own technical planning, solution execution, estimation, dependencies, technical risks, quality, and delivery commitments.
- Provide hands-on leadership across software engineering, product configuration, APIs, integrations, databases, data processing, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Translate complex business and functional requirements into technical designs, configuration strategies, data mappings, integration approaches, test strategies, and implementation plans.
- Own technical delivery outcomes and solution quality rather than individual development tasks alone.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, and implementation gaps early and establish appropriate mitigation plans.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, reusable, secure, auditable, performant, and operationally supportable.
Solution Design & Architecture
- Design scalable technical solutions supporting complex banking, financial-services, and SaaS implementation requirements.
- Determine the appropriate use of standard platform functionality, configuration, extensions, APIs, integrations, or customization.
- Review and approve technical designs, configuration strategies, interface contracts, data mappings, migration approaches, deployment plans, and testing strategies.
- Provide technical direction across backend, frontend, API, integration, workflow, reporting, automation, and data-processing components.
- Work closely with Architecture, Product Management, Engineering, QA, DevOps, Functional Consulting, and implementation teams to resolve complex technical decisions.
- Promote reusable engineering and configuration patterns rather than unnecessary one-off solutions.
Software Engineering & Product Configuration
- Lead and contribute hands-on to complex product, pricing, rate, fee, billing, workflow, approval, eligibility, and integration configuration.
- Design, develop, review, and enhance backend, frontend, API, integration, automation, reporting, and data-processing solutions.
- Conduct and lead code reviews, configuration reviews, technical design reviews, and implementation quality checks.
- Improve existing solutions for scalability, readability, maintainability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Reinforce engineering standards across development, configuration, documentation, source control, testing, CI/CD, and release management.
APIs, Integrations & Data
- Lead the design and implementation of REST APIs, interface logic, data mappings, file transformations, integration workflows, validation rules, error handling, and reconciliation processes.
- Support integrations with enterprise systems including core banking, billing, CRM, servicing, payments, reporting, data platforms, and downstream financial systems.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across source systems, platform configuration, transformation layers, integrations, databases, and downstream outputs.
- Lead reconciliation between expected and actual product, pricing, rate, fee, billing, customer, and transaction-level results.
- Develop or oversee SQL queries, scripts, diagnostic reports, automation utilities, and data-validation tools.
- Ensure integrations incorporate appropriate monitoring, traceability, validation, exception handling, and operational support.
Deployment, CI/CD & Environment Leadership
- Lead deployment of products, modules, configurations, integrations, and technical components across all applicable lower environments.
- Coordinate deployments through Development, Integration, QA, UAT, Staging, and other pre-production environments.
- Ensure releases follow established CI/CD, release-management, change-control, security, and environment-management practices.
- Validate configurations, dependencies, integrations, interfaces, services, data, and infrastructure components following deployment.
- Lead troubleshooting of complex deployment, environment, configuration, pipeline, integration, and dependency issues.
- Review deployment instructions, implementation notes, release documentation, rollback considerations, and validation procedures.
- Support UAT, release readiness, cutover planning, production readiness, go-live, and post-deployment validation.
Banking & FinTech Solutions

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
- Lead resolution of high-priority defects, performance issues, reconciliation breaks, data inconsistencies, integration failures, deployment problems, and complex implementation defects.
- Diagnose issues across application logic, configuration, databases, APIs, batch processes, cloud environments, deployment pipelines, integrations, and client systems.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams during complex technical incidents and troubleshooting activities.
- Perform root cause analysis and establish corrective and preventive actions.
- Escalate architecture, product, security, environment, and delivery risks with evidence and recommended solutions.
Quality & Technical Governance
- Establish quality gates across design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and production-readiness activities.
- Ensure sufficient coverage across functional, integration, regression, negative, edge-case, performance, and data-driven testing.
- Pay particular attention to high-risk financial functionality including pricing calculations, rates, fees, billing logic, eligibility, exception pricing, approvals, auditability, and downstream financial outputs.
- Ensure implementation artifacts are complete and supportable, including technical designs, configuration documentation, deployment guides, runbooks, known issues, and support handover materials.
- Drive adherence to secure coding, data privacy, access control, audit, source-control, environment-management, and release-management standards.
Client-Facing Technical Consulting
- Lead technical discussions and workshops with client technology, architecture, operations, product, pricing, billing, data, security, risk, and delivery teams.
- Facilitate discussions covering solution design, integrations, data mapping, migration, environment readiness, non-functional requirements, deployment, and cutover planning.
- Explain technical options, constraints, dependencies, risks, and recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Prepare technical recommendations, impact assessments, solution options, estimates, dependency analysis, and risk-mitigation plans.
- Participate in technical checkpoints, solution demonstrations, defect escalations, release-readiness reviews, and go-live discussions.
- Operate as a trusted technical advisor throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Team Lead & Mentorship
- Lead, coach, and mentor junior and intermediate Technical Consultants and Software Engineers.
- Provide technical direction and assign work based on complexity, capability, dependencies, and delivery priorities.
- Review code, configurations, technical designs, data mappings, test approaches, deployment documentation, and troubleshooting strategies.
- Act as a technical escalation point and unblock team members facing complex implementation issues.
- Build team capability across software engineering, SaaS implementation, platform knowledge, banking/FinTech, troubleshooting, consulting, and client communication.
- Promote technical ownership, collaboration, engineering discipline, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Must Have
- Significant progressive experience in software engineering, technical consulting, enterprise SaaS implementation, systems integration, or enterprise application delivery.
- Demonstrated experience operating at a Senior, Lead, Technical Lead, or Team Lead level.
- Experience leading technical delivery for complex modules, implementation workstreams, enterprise projects, or engineering teams.
- Strong hands-on technical experience across several of the following:
- Software development
- REST APIs / Web Services
- Systems integration
- SQL and relational databases
- Data processing and transformation
- Enterprise application configuration
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis

- Demonstrated experience mentoring and providing technical direction to junior and intermediate engineers or consultants.

Banking / Financial Services / FinTech
Banking, Financial-services, Or FinTech Experience Is Strongly Preferred.
